Important Notes for this Swap
In order to participate in this swap, you must have completed a previous swap with me, or have someone that has completed a swap vouch for you that they will take responsibility if you do not send your quilt, or be someone I talk to regularly via email or Facebook. Why? Because, unfortunately, way too many people have signed up for previous swaps and not delivered. It’s so disappointing for their partner that did not receive a package, and it takes a huge amount of my time to follow up and coordinate swap angels.
Additionally, I have not set up a Flickr group for this swap. I’m investigating options for a community forum, which will be available soon. I’d like to move all swap discussion and submission of photos to the new forum. This will be sorted out before registration ends for this swap.
Please make sure my email address, michele@quiltinggallery.com has been added to your safe email list. Once you’ve submitted your registration info, you will receive an email to verify that the information is accurate. You must reply to this email so that I know I am able to email you. You will receive a confirmation email once your registration has been accepted. If you do not receive your verification email, that means I was unable to email you. Please check your spam folder first, then contact me.
Swap Guidelines
Make a Winter-themed mini quilt to send to your partner. Please note that this is a winter swap and not a Christmas swap. Follow the theme of the swap, i.e. snow, ice, cold, winter sports, winter fun, colours that represent winter, etc. in some way.
It can be pieced, appliqued, or both. The quilt must be bound, (not pillow-turned and no zig-zagged edges) and made with good-quality fabrics. It should be washable; however, if your design will not be washable, please check with your partner before proceeding.
Any preferences your partner entered when they registered for the swap will be sent to you. Make something you’d love to receive and, chances are, your partner will love it too.
Minimum size is 12″x12″ and the maximum size is 24″x24″, any size or shape in between. Don’t forget to add a label to your mini quilt and a note with your name and email address clearly written so that your partner may thank you for the quilt.
It’s a SECRET swap, so please don’t tell your partner who you are in advance (except as noted above), but go ahead and post pictures of your progress on your blog and on the forum which will be available soon.
When you’ve mailed your quilt, send me an email with the swap name, your name and your partner’s name, so that I may keep track of the progress.
Please, if you sign up to participate, follow through. It would be a shame for someone else not to get a wonderful mini quilt in the mail.
Registration closes January 31st. Partner information will be sent by February 2nd. The deadline to mail your mini quilt is March 1st for overseas shipments and March 8th for domestic shipments (and Canada/USA).
