The technique is continuous line machine applique, and was a pain!

I created it as a sample for a class I was teaching. When a friend saw the bird on the sheet music she said, “The bird looks like he is waiting for his singing audition.” So I named the quilt, “The Audition”

    Okay, I think this gets harder to pick only one each week. This set of quilts is so diverse. Even if a quilt doesn’t win, the makers should all be proud of their work.

    There are some very detailed quilts here, but I think my favorite by far is the dragonfly…awesome! If I would have been allowed more than one vote, it would have went like this…

    Wow! I had a really hard time voting for just one. I agree with everything that’s been said. I love birds and dragonflies and the details and workmanship in the bugs was fantastic. Kudos to all the quilters.

    To me, ‘The Caterpillar’ is the best one, it holds the most colour, is full of cheerfullness. And its design holds the eye, guiding it along the image. Im not a fan of flys, dragon flys are dirty and spread disease and ducks live in their own muck. But a caterpillar turns in to abeautifull butterfly- i love that quilt.

    i love katie’s butterfly quilt! the butterflies are so colorful and each one so unique. it matches everything no matter where you put it:) also a great cause. beautiful quilt katie!
