Vacation time is over … so let’s catch up on the latest lessons for the Delightful Stars Quilt-Along.
For Lesson 18, we created three small friendship star blocks and then attached them to the larger star created earlier. I opted to deviate from the original quilt design and will have my small stars in the middle of my quilt, not on the edge.
Lesson 19 was Block 13, one of my most favourite star blocks in the quilt. Using fabrics with good contrast, this block really makes a statement.
For Lesson 20 (this week), we are completing a small paper pieced block that goes at the very bottom, centre of the quilt top. This little block gave me some grief trying to match the centre. I think I was just tired! After three attempts, it’s good enough for me.
This week, we’re also joining four blocks together that form the centre/bottom of the quilt top. (Photo is rotated.)
Here are my Lessons 1 through 20:
With this week’s lesson, we are two-thirds of the way through the quilt-along. There are 12 more paper pieced blocks to complete the centre top, then it’s on to the borders, basting, quilting and binding.
