20 year old son was most put out he didn’t have a quilt made by ‘Mum’ so….for his 21st he decided his quilt would be a likeness to his Paper Tiger catamaran Blueprint, by then the centre panel was started… 2 years later he finally got his quilt, “was worth the wait mum” what do you think???

Hoffman’s Last Banana fabric was just the thing for a summer time child’s quilt. The pattern is Catchanap from Pieced Tree. I made a baby quilt of my own design with the scrap fabric. I quilted it a pattern of free motion leaves and circles. Just right for a jungle!

The Mysterious Letter P quilt was inspired by a local quilt show challenge. We were told to make a quilt inspired by a letter and give at least five clues as to what that letter was. I chose the letter P and included – pinwheels, plus signs, pink, purple, plaid, peace, print, polka dots, and more!

Our family vacations at the beach. One summer we watched a turtle nest hatch. To commemorate the event I designed and stitched this quilt for my brother. The Mother’s back is a Radiating star. The small hatching turtles are my variation on the Drunkards Path. The heads are dimensional, they flap!

This was the first quilt that I ever quilted and it was done this summer! It was a practice quilt made from leftover HST from a graduation quilt for a friend’s son. So, this one will be for his first child. I used a long-arm quilting machine to quilt musical notes into it as he loves guitars.

I love garage sale shopping and quilting is a favorite year-round.
The best thing about summer is going fishing. My husband and I go catfishing as much as possible. The best thing about it I always catch more and bigger fish than him! Love it! :)
My favorite summer activity is finding a cool or shady spot to read and sip iced tea.
I love hiking and camping in the summertime but haven’t had a chance to do either yet!

My favorite summer activity is to drive to the beach in the early evening to eat clam chowder and then light a fire on the beach and enjoy the sunset.
I love working in my yard in the summertime, but I also enjoy sewing in my sunroom. I can look out the windows and watch the birds at the feeders or enjoy the view of our hosta garden while working.
It has been so hot here the last couple of summers, the only fun thing to do was stay inside – and sew!!
In the summer I like to eat watermelon and have family gatherings. Thanks for the giveaway.

My favorite summertime activity is walking up our local hil and picking the wild blackberries there to cook and eat or just eat. Tie dyeing in the garden on a summers day!

I just wish it was longer here in Canada. I do however enjoy getting ready for our biannual Quilt Show. I guess I could say that’s my favorite summer activity since quilting is my passion!!!!
I love to eat ice cream! I like to try new flavors. My current favorite is Italian Cream Cake! Next I want to try Red Velvet Cake.

I’m a gardener and I love working in my veggie garden but my all time favorite thing to do in the summer is to keep my flower gardens looking bright & beautiful. Summer is short in northern Wisconsin so I enjoy every sunny day.
I love everything summer but visits by family and friends are the highlight.
Love to quilt and paint…no matter the time of year. Enjoying summer sun and the flowers now.

well, besides quilting (that is a favorite ANY time!), it is early morning walks with Marley (our beloved Alaskan Malamute), watching sunsets on the shore of lake Erie (yes, with Marley again :) ), first morning coffee in the garden with my husband… Hard to pick just one! :)

I recently retired and I can truly say my favorite summertime activity is spending time with our children and grandchildren — picnics, hikes, time in the pool, etc.
I love hiking in National Parks in the summer.
My favorite summertime activity is bicycling.
Our local park has outdoor concerts every Sunday evening. Sitting on the hill in the evening breeze listening to wonderful music has to be my favorite activity.
I love the summers as this is our time away in the rv relaxing and having fun. My sewing machine is always with me so I can still enjoy my passion of quilting too. Could life get any better? ;-)
I love to travel with our RV – always having my Janome Gem with me in case I “need” to piece/quilt!

My favorite activity for the summer is camping in our little Airstream with my hubby. While he is fishing to catch our dinner, I get to piece quilts on my portable Juki. Bliss!

My favorite thing to do in the Summer, or really any season these days, is to spend time with my niece and nephew. They are 3 and 5, and still discovering so much. It’s great to be able to share in it.
I live where summer is sunny and hot so my favorite way to spend time is visiting the beach and quilting to cool off!
Well, my favorite is camping – with our trailer, and getting out there and exploring this big, beautiful country!
