20 year old son was most put out he didn’t have a quilt made by ‘Mum’ so….for his 21st he decided his quilt would be a likeness to his Paper Tiger catamaran Blueprint, by then the centre panel was started… 2 years later he finally got his quilt, “was worth the wait mum” what do you think???

This quilt started with the backing fabric:I fell in love with Heidi Grace Designs-Reagan’s Closet. It screamed for a colorful, fun top so I used SWIRL by Whistler Studios & scraps from my stash. Then I hand quilted designs that I copied from the backing fabric. I quilt from Wa state.

Hoffman’s Last Banana fabric was just the thing for a summer time child’s quilt. The pattern is Catchanap from Pieced Tree. I made a baby quilt of my own design with the scrap fabric. I quilted it a pattern of free motion leaves and circles. Just right for a jungle!

The Mysterious Letter P quilt was inspired by a local quilt show challenge. We were told to make a quilt inspired by a letter and give at least five clues as to what that letter was. I chose the letter P and included – pinwheels, plus signs, pink, purple, plaid, peace, print, polka dots, and more!

Our family vacations at the beach. One summer we watched a turtle nest hatch. To commemorate the event I designed and stitched this quilt for my brother. The Mother’s back is a Radiating star. The small hatching turtles are my variation on the Drunkards Path. The heads are dimensional, they flap!

This was the first quilt that I ever quilted and it was done this summer! It was a practice quilt made from leftover HST from a graduation quilt for a friend’s son. So, this one will be for his first child. I used a long-arm quilting machine to quilt musical notes into it as he loves guitars.

Sew Along with Ellison Lane Blog June 2013. All blocks paper pieced and we got to decide how we wanted to finish it. I added sashing in the background color to make the treats stand out and added fusible lettering. Love how it turned out and really enjoyed the sew along. Thanks Jennifer Mathis.

    My favorite summer activity is cooking the ‘girl food’ while my husband grills up our burgers, then hopping in the pool as a family. And luckily, summers are very long in Arizona!

    My fav activity is just what I do all year. Nothing. LOL I live in Florida and don’t work. We go to the beach once in awhile. What I love to do most is sing and I do that 3 times a week.

    I Love Gardening and working in my flower beds. Also working on Summer Quilts for the Homeless- the Mission . So they can Stay warm in the winter. If you give back it is very rewarding. Also visiting the beautiful Lakes in Michigan and seeing the beautiful State..

    My favorite summer activity is definitely being able to garden out doors. I love being outside in the warm weather with the sun on my back and seeing everthing green and alive and growing. And knowing that we are all a part of this great big world.

    Ijust love to garden. The rose garde probably is my favorite as I get so many beauties. We have a turtle in the back yard and he just loves rose petals so he will visit me for a snack while I am picking. Summer is sew fun!
