A miniature Easter design by Esther Aliu for her yahoo group this Easter and it was a joy to make my first ever mini quilt.
Finished block was 7 inches, with my extra border this is 9 inches square and has been sent to my Mum in Christchurch instead of an Easter card this year

Easter Bunnies Easter Bunnies

When I found these Morehead bunnies embroideries, I knew I had to have them. I used some of them to make a small wall hanging for Easter/spring. They make me smile. Not quite finished, but it won’t take long to get the binding stitched down.

Made with leftover triangles. The HST’s finishing at one inch were then stitched into pinwheel blocks. There were enough for 18 little blocks that I decided to arrange into a little strippy style quilt. Bright yellow sashing and brown binding pretty much scream chocolate covered peeps!

Easter Egg Tree Easter Egg Tree
By: Sandi,

When I moved a few years ago, my quilting friends gave me a bundle of fabrics. I used them for this little quilt and then embroidered the felt eggs and egg tree for a special memory of my friends from the Prior Lake Quilt Group! The bunny is a reminder of all the bunnies that dined in my garden. :-)

I made this little wall-hanging for the final Project Quilting Challenge, called “Hurray for Spring”.
It was the first time I did free-motion-quilting with my machine on anything other then a test swatch. The daffodils were created using the japanese Kanzashi technique and yo-yo’s.

Original design. Applique is such a freeing media and simplified shapes and silhouettes are wonderfully recognizable. These tiny chicks freshly hatched remind me of new life, which is such a part of what we celebrate at Easter.

Hard to choose just two quilts to vote for. After our grandaughter gets her basket and finds all the hidden eggs we usually just have a quiet family day and of course chocolate bunnies!

All the selections are beautiful! So hard to choose!
We celebrate Easter by going to church, having a big lunch and egg hunt using dyed eggs. While the big lunch is being prepared the kids get to open their Easter baskets.

As a child, my parents used to hide a
Easter basket full of goodies for the kids. I used to do the same with my kids, but they are now also grown up, so Easter isn’t what it used to be for me.
