I love blue and white dishes! I have my grandmother’s Blue Willow dishes. I also have a set of blue Currier and Ives dishes and a set of Yorktown dishes by Pfaltzgraff. I wanted to make a blue and white tablerunner to go along with all of my dishes. The tumbler pattern was easy and fun.

This runner is made from a pattern by John Adams from Fat Quarterly magazine. I had been saving my collection of Japanese indigo linens purchased in Tokyo by a colleague about 8 years ago. Finally, this pattern spoke to me! I hand quilted dragonflies and did some simple machine quilting as well.

Spicy Spiral is a pattern by School House Quilts. It uses the 25” 9° wedge ruler by Marilyn Doheny. Using the ruler, putting this tablerunner together is a so easy. The hardest part is figuring out how to quilt it! This one is made width 8 batiks.

I pieced all the points by hand on my travels then completed the blocks at home. I made a smaller version for my mother to hang on the wall as she loved it so much. It is long arm machine quilted. It goes so well with the colors of my dining room chairs.
