Faux Paper Piecing

From Quilting with Ragdolls comes this tutorial on Faux Paper Piecing. It is well written with tonnes of photos. I like the idea of being able to reuse the pattern over and over again, instead of having to copy it for traditional paper piecing.

Just Bugs

From Quiltmaker, comes this very fun pattern, Just Bugs. This charming little quilt, features a bevy of bugs and other little creatures, and is easy to make with foundation piecing and fusible patches. Sew down the raw edges with a buttonhole stitch and draw the tiny legs and antennae with a permanent-ink fabric pen.

Foundation Favorites

foundation-favs.jpg

From Quiltmaker, 24 free foundation pieced patterns. Each pattern given creates an 8-inch block, but you can re-size as needed. Excellent instructions, full-sized patterns, and samples if you decide to repeat one block.

My favourite block is Hosannah, as it looks like tulips, which are one of my favourite flowers. What’s yours?

Crazy Anne Lap Quilt

Here’s a fun lap quilt project from McCall’s Quick Quilts, Crazy Anne. I think if I stared at this long enough, I just might get dizzy. Would look stunning with a black background and bright coloured fabrics. It’s paper-pieced which I love for accuracy.
