Congratulations to Sharon Schamber for winning the Best in Show at this year’s Houston Quilt Festival for her quilt The Spirit of Mother Earth. 1. Go through your stash and find your ugliest fabric, you know the one that when you look at it you say to yourself, “What was I thinking?” Dig deep and find that turkey! It will surely not be a lovely flamingo fabric, but who knows what you may find hidden in there.

It’s been a good week! I have finished a quilt, just going to throw it in the wash to fluff it up. More tomorrow, it’s a gift!!

We’re well into August, and soon Summer will be over. Did it ever start in Ottawa? We’ve had a cooler than normal and very wet summer here. For me who loves it hot and sunny, I keep waiting for those days. I’m glad to be heading South next week, where I hope I’ll find some of that heat and sunshine.

What better way to say goodbye to the summer that never was, than having a Lazy Days of Summer Photo Contest.
