Quilters' Show & Tell

Grab yourself a pencil and some paper as it’s voting time for this week’s Quilters’ Show & Tell event. The theme is Halloween FUN Quilts.

This week’s guest judges are Jenny from Jenny H. Quilts and Soma from Whims and Fancies. They’ll both have 100 bonus points to assign to up to four quilts.

This booklet is 104 pages and contains:

I was a tester for a quilt pattern designed by Jess J. E. Smith at The Quilt & Needle. Ultimately she decided to go with a smaller block size for the pattern (these are 12″ blocks) so this may be the only ‘big’ one out there!

A fun table cloth for our kitchen table made from scraps. Applique (with the help of my Accuquilt GO! Baby, the Fall Medley die #55D41, and some fun freehand quilting were used to create this little quilt.

I used the border on a fabric for the center of the children marching in their costumes. The blocks are made from my stash of scrappy leftover’s.

The faces on the pumpkins are embroderd with black threads. I applicated everything with a festoonstitch. The leaves and the spiderweb I quilted with the machine ( the first time I did this ) The spider is made of a jojo with 2 buttons as eyes. The dew on the spiderweb are little breads.

This mug rug is a mini quilt. I had participated in a few Halloween Themed Swaps and had some fabric left over. I love designing and putting together mug rugs. They are wonderful little project that produce a great reward with little investment in time and fabric.

I made this table runner for a friend who was hosting a large costume party. She had lots and lots of decorations for the walls but only some plastic tablecloths for her multiple tables. So I made this runner and a few other table toppers for her party! The spider web is hand quilted.

Always had a bunch of extra Halloween scraps so I took them and cut into strips of 2.5 and used them all up to make this quilt. It is free motion quilted and backing is white with black spiders and their webs.

My 3 year old Granddaughter is SO excited about Halloween this year and she loves cats. I saw this paperpieced pattern on a blog called “thimblemouseandspouse.blogspot.com and decided to make it. I had materials very similar to what she used in her borders so I somehow felt it was meant to be!

I had a collection of Halloween F8s and Fqs and decided to make a string quilt wall hanging. The black border had a wrinkled look like crepe paper. I machine quilted it in a spiderweb pattern.

My mom’s favorite holiday is Halloween, her birthday is the 29th and anniversary is the 30th. Our family always celebrates for days! I made her this Halloween table runner and it she just loved it. I also made two matching place mats or center pieces for my sister and myself, so we all had one.

“Jacks be Quick” from Cozy Quilts. Made for the October Jelly Roll Party at my LQS, Ruth’s Stitchery. I stitched the blocks at the Front Range Modern Quilt Guild’s August sew-in. Failing to read the directions, I made all the blocks the same, so had to make more. That’s why it’s a big quilt!

The middle insert is interchangeable depending upon the month of the year. All quilt inserts are made from wool felt and hand stitched. This was a fun project to work on and it is the grandkiddies job to change the months as they happen! ;-)

Velcome. I call my vampire, Mystat. I’m a fan of Anne Rice. The hands and face were hand embroidered before the applique process began on this wall hanging. His face is 3D with extra stuffing added to make it puffy. The quilting is free motion on my domestic with stipple and lightning bolts.
