...And In The Meadow …And In The Meadow
By: Sue Cook, Pennsylvania, USA

This was my first original quilt design. After I took a class to learn paper piecing I realized I could piece a pictorial design instead of having to applique. When I took this quilt to my LQS the sales people convinced me I should publish a pattern for it, so I started Larkspur Lane Designs!

A Snowy Friend Calendar A Snowy Friend Calendar
By: Starwood Quilter, Colorado, USA

I live in Colorado, where we might have snow any month of the year! This calendar quilt features twelve redwork snowmen/snowladies, each appropriate to their month. Each block was a fun bit of handwork to always have on hand and easily take with me. I used perle cotton for the embroidery.

bearly winter bearly winter
By: landscapelady, Vermont, USA

My parents favorite vacation spot is Alaska so when I got the deep sea blue fabric I thought of an Alaskan landscape with a melting glacier and of course had to put in those cute little bears. Looks like the winter some of us wish we had this year:)

Children Making Snowmen Children Making Snowmen
By: Carolyn DiPerri, New Hampshire, USA

I have such fond memories of the children playing out in the snow and making snowmen. In NH we get alot of snow. I used Heat and Bond Lite for the applique and used the blanket stitch to outline all the pieces. I have also stipple quilted this wall hanging. Thanks for taking a look.

Farewell Carol Victory Farewell Carol Victory
By: Carol, Indiana, USA

Prior to my moving away, my bee all made two snowman blocks to be made into a quilt for our guild auction. Unbeknownst to me, the second set was made into a farewell quilt for me. My block is at the middle of the bottom row. The quilt was assembled by Fran Urquhart and quilter was Mary Jo Yackley

Snow Flakes Snow Flakes
By: Sharon Elliot, South Africa

This quilt was an exercise in patience and being extremely careful while cutting out and then the never-ending task of sewing. Each snowflake is a solid piece of fabric. 4 of the snowflake patterns were from Linda Pool’s book – Lace Patterns and the remaining 2 patterns were designed by my daughter.

This is my very first attempt at applique. I hadn’t made any seasonal pieces in the 3 years I’ve been quilting I decided I really need to have some. I found the pattern in one of my quilting magazines and apologize I can’t find it to give credit to the pattern designer. I’ll keep looking!

Back again to my window. I love making the window scenes. I live in the country on a farm and no matter when I look out the window, there is something to draw my attention. I love every season and the nature and whimsy all around me.

Under the Stars Under the Stars
By: calicojoan, Colorado, USA

I finished a UFO and I love it. It was a kit that I had for years. The flannel and homespuns make it so warm and cuddly, that I have to ask myself all the time, just why did you take so long to make it up?
:-) And I have no good answer for you, sorry!

This quilt is hand-embroidered, machine pieced, and machine quilted. It features pearlescent metallic quilting thread and Swarovski hot fix crystals to make the snowflakes sparkle. I fell in love with this pattern in three different quilt shops before I grew bold enough to give it a shot.

Just wanted to congratulate Sharon Elliott of South Africa on her quilt – Snow Flakes. What time and patience she must have had to finish this. I also love the inclusion of the lace pattern – it makes it very unique. Well done Sharon. I cant wait to see what you do next.
