Bold over by stained glass By: Robyn McPherson, Australia The purchase of a Creative Iron stencil and a grab bag of Bold Over Batiks lead to the centre panel. Each of the small sections was fussy cut from the batiks. The setting was planned to look like bricks and the remnants of the batiks were used in the outer border. In Awe and Wonder By: Lindy, Washington, USA A summery quilt pattern in an Elenore Burns book made me think, “Stained Glass!”. I used batiks on black satin. I pieced every inch of this wall hanging, and did my best work, as I wanted to display it in our church. (But, if I ever do it again, I will ‘cheat’ and heat and bond the sucker!) I was skeptical when I read this week’s theme was stained glass and now is am in awe to see the results. Some people know I don’t leave many of my comments unspoken, so, “Cathedral” left me speechless. Considering the HUGE amount of work that went in to this piece. The colour and design are unique. This piece is a one of a kind. Well done Jeri, I hope you have great feelings of accomplishment.

The stained glass quilts are awsome. I think each and everyone is a winner. Great work.
Is it just me or is one of the submitted quilts getting quite a few votes NOT a stained glass quilts? It’s a beautiful piece but I don’t think it should be included in the competition.

I leave theme interpretation up to each quilter that wants to submit a quilt. I try not to “police” the entries, as then the contests wouldn’t be FUN anymore.
