Compass Rose By: dawn, Illinois, USA
This quilt was made for the Father of my beautiful daughters. He was born and raised in Norway but lives in midwestern USA far away from the sea. The compasses and colors remind him of his love of the sea.

Memorial Quilt for Chris By: Debi R., Nevada, USA
My son’s father passed in 2007 and I just finished his memorial quilt using strips of fabric from his dad’s shirts. I used a variety of quilt patterns including rail fence, 4-patch, and windows. I added lots of clouds as his dad is now in heaven. His dad loved the color blue. My son loves it!

My husband loves to photograph flowers. While in Kailua Kona, I was flower pounding and pounded this huge hibiscus while my hubby was golfing. The next day he wanted to go downtown to photo the hibiscus he had seen. I held up the fabric…and he hasnt let me forget it. I hope this makes up for it

Quilt Monster By: Patty Ashworth, Tennessee, USA
One block of the monsters was made and was up on my wall for 1 1/2 years… then the other blocks were being made and the monster just slipped into the middle! He just fit. He was supposed to be in a quilt for a show that would say, don’t touch the quilts, that’s my job!

The Generals By: Jan Stone, Missouri, USA
I made this quilt for my hubby, who is a Civil War buff. The quilt features both Union and Confederate Generals. Each entering this grueling war for many individual reasons. Just as today, a military father gives his children, by his example a great gift–to see a man of honor do his duty.

The Man Quilt aka Mid-life crisis By: Christi Steiner, Oklahoma, USA
A few of dad’s favorite things…Cigars, Three Stooges, hot peppers, casinos. It all started with beer (he collects steins) and pretzels but I just kept finding more fabrics of things he liked or started to like when he turned the big 5-0! Made for my husband a wonderful father to our two boys.

Ties to Dad By: Lisa Bryson, North Carolina, USA
This for a Friend who lost his father earlier this year. I used the actual tie for the fans and overlapped them using a blanket stitch. The center fence rail I took the ties apart to get an even piece. I used Rock Candy for alittle bit of a shine around the ties & M’liss fabric elsewhere.
