Are you buried under mountains of snow as ol’ Man Winter storms across North America this week?

Try snow dyeing!

Pro Chemical & Dye put together a timely blog post on Snow Dyeing.

Here’s their picture slideshow:

The Snow Dyeing instructions are also available as a PDF file for you to download too.

Also, my Facebook friend Gayle McKay, has a few snow dyeing tutorials and examples available on her blog too.

Ya know, if the white crap is going to fall, we might as well find something pretty to do with it.

    Hi Ada,

I think you mean soda ash:

I add soda ash to water and soak my fabrics for a bit before dyeing them. I’ll also sometimes add some soda ash water to the container I’m using to dye my fabrics, instead of just plain water. I believe it helps with the dye reaction process.

Check Paula’s web site for some great information:

    and Melissa’s site too:

I’ve followed Melissa’s techniques the first time I tried dyeing, and the results were gorgeous.

    Good luck!
    Michele
