    Hi Ada,

    I think you mean soda ash:

    I add soda ash to water and soak my fabrics for a bit before dyeing them. I’ll also sometimes add some soda ash water to the container I’m using to dye my fabrics, instead of just plain water. I believe it helps with the dye reaction process.

    I’ve followed Melissa’s techniques the first time I tried dyeing, and the results were gorgeous.
