An ‘Oldie but a Goodie’; this quilt was one of the first bigger quilts that I made. It is used daily, has been through the washing machine several times and still looks great. The 8in blocks are made entirely out of scraps. The designer of this quilt is Jane Morgan (Stunning Patchwork No 1, 2007)

This quilt was pieced together in 2002 using charm squares that I had exchanged with others. It is completely hand quilted with thousands of hearts throughout the design. It is my favorite of all the quilts I have made as I love scrap quilts and making beautiful things out of very little pieces.

    I use Aurafil cream, tan or grey for piecing. Love it. Lately, I’ve been using a lot of variegated greens for quilting because they go so well with the purple I use in most of my quilts. My other go-to colors for quilting are purples, blues and yellows.

    To piece: I usually use white, cream, grey or black.

    To quilt: I use anything and everything. Sometimes it matches, sometimes it’s completely different to stand out.

    I use grey/cream for piecing, When I quilt it depends on the quilt top I love to use variegated threads. Our local shop sells Aurafil so I use it a lot.

    I make and quilt charity quilts a lot. We use Walmart’s brand twin flat sheets, take the seams out, and cut the sheet in half. The half will serve as a backing for a quilt. We go through blue backings as the most popular color. So it’s shades of blue we use the most. It would be a wonderful blessing to receive one of your packages of great Aurifil threads.

    i typically use a cream colored thread in my quilting. I find that white shows too much and the cream tends to blend in with more fabrics.

    Depends on the piece being quilted. I use colors that blend, colors that contrast, or colors that complement the piece I am quilting.

    For machine piecing I use a cream color for light colors, gray for dark colors. For machine quilting I like to use a neutral or a varigated thread. For hand quilting I use either a neutral or black. Love Aurifil threads. Hugs

    I am learning to quilting. Unfortunately, even I can’t correctly define the color of the thread that I use in quilts. Precisely, today I’m unsewing all the quilting I did on an edge, since by the poor choice of color, quilting design is not appreciated.

    I love to use variegated threads. Usually I will coordinate th overall color of he variegated thread to the quilt colors, but I love having the subtle color change in the quilted design.

    I would use a cream/beige more than any other colour, mainly because I love reproduction quilts and this colour blends in very well.

    I usually use the ecru but lately I’ve been using a brown that looks very nice on darker colors. Also use white, black, gray and some of the varigated colors. I love Aurifil thread for piecing and for machine quilting! Would love to win the thread and try out some of the other colors! Thank you for the chance!
