An ‘Oldie but a Goodie’; this quilt was one of the first bigger quilts that I made. It is used daily, has been through the washing machine several times and still looks great. The 8in blocks are made entirely out of scraps. The designer of this quilt is Jane Morgan (Stunning Patchwork No 1, 2007)

This quilt was pieced together in 2002 using charm squares that I had exchanged with others. It is completely hand quilted with thousands of hearts throughout the design. It is my favorite of all the quilts I have made as I love scrap quilts and making beautiful things out of very little pieces.

    When I do quilt by hand, I prefer to use a light color that blends. I haven’t had the courage to use contrasting thread!

    I use cream the most, have never used Aurafil, just recently bought a new machine that doesn’t like my less than steller threads, how does this thread sew up? Need to replace all my thread I fear.

    I am just starting into machine quilting. I love the reds and oranges, but will use whatever strikes me at the moment for what the quilt is crying out for. : )

    The most I use when quilting is white, because it blends in most of the time.

    I like to quilt with a thread that disappears in the quilt, so, the thread color is different all the time. but, when I piece, I typically use a light beige or darker for darker prints.

    Whichever one matches my quilt! That’s almost always a variegated thread. I guess I’ve been going through the brown/beige/cream variegated threads pretty rapidly lately, believe it or not!

    I use LOTS of Aurifils!!
    It seems that the most frequently used one, when I want to blend-in is the sage green/gray-ish one (it just blends with so many different colors!) and when I want a contrast, it is a bright, lime green one! :)

    I use Aurifil in light or dark greys to piece, and use all colors of Aurifil for free motion quilting. I love it! I would love to win the variegated thread set and use it for quilting.

    I use greige for peicing, and whatever colour the quilt needs for the quilting (black, purple, variegated red, lavender are from my last four quilts).

    I’ve decided to use light tan from now on. The last time I tried to match my quilt, I had a difficult time seeing where I was going and where I had been! That will change if I make a light tan quilt.

    The thread color I use most for quilting is a natural or cream color. It goes with most light backgrounds.

    I use a lot of a warm neutral beige for piecing. Aurifil is my favorite kind of thread for this.
