Beach Baby By: Donna Mc,
Georgia, USA
A co-worker was decorating their nursery with a beach theme for their little baby boy. All kinds of cute things – surf boards on the walls and a painted tiki hut, and other cute stuff. I designed this quilt around it. The little critters were my favorite, and my son drew the crab.

beach umbrellas By: Suzy Sparrowe,
United Kingdom
I made this lap quilt a couple of months ago and am utterly proud of it. The moment I placed the pieced umbrellas onto the beach footstep fabric, it totally came to life! The border fabric is one of my favourite fabrics and luckily I still have lots of it left!

City Lights By: Victoria Plesa,
California, USA
Only two fabrics makeup this landscape. The city lights are clear Swarovski crystals that add movement and realism to the cityscape. No matter what time of night, when flying over an urban area, people go on with the daily grind of life. The only evidence they exist from above being the City Lights.

One last visit By: Debbie Clarke,
South Carolina, USA
I created a journal quilt after one last visit to Daytona Beach. A small shell picked up on the beach inspired the thread painting. I love the soft colors. The curved edge reminds me of the waves. I attached the shell on the upper right.

Sunbonnet Sue’s Retirement Dream By: Kaaren Biggs,

Made for a “Dreams” guild challenge, this shows Sue tall and slim and able to eat as much ice cream as she likes, while strolling on the beach in her itty-bitty bikini – but of course the face remains hidden under her huge bonnet! Her little dogs follow to lap up the ice cream drops!

Waves on the Rocks By: Becky Peacock,
Kuwait
The pattern originated from a Quilt University class. I stepped out of my comfort zone to dabble in painting fabrics, melting cellophane & sheer fabrics, and fusing Angelina fibers, then put everything together artistically. There is even real sand on the shore! The sky is the limit, I realized.
