Baby Quilts from Today’s Guests
In Ties that Bind Philippa decides she’d like to learn how to quilt and signs up for a baby quilt class. I asked our guest bloggers to share a baby quilt they’ve made with us.
Melissa – Sew Bitter Sweet Designs
I have made several baby quilts, the first few I have no pictures of because they were made before digital cameras. My very first quilt was made for my niece – 10 years ago, it was what turned me on to quilting. She loved the quilt through and through (as in she wore a whole straight through all three layers). The first quilt I ever designed was for my daughter, Anne. She loves butterflies and I call this quilt – “Fluttering By”. I love seeing her cuddle underneath it when watching cartoons.
Kim – Crafty Apple
The quilt is called ‘Modern Flowers’. This piece is mostly appliqued. I love making baby quilts with blacks whites and pops of colors. I think it really helps stimulate babies’ minds. I also know they are great for tummy time – babies work at getting their heads up so they can see what’s going on on the quilt.
Happy first birthday to Kim’s youngest daughter, Pip:
