Amish Baskets By: kristi_d, Wisconsin, USA
I visited northern Indiana and was awed by the Amish quilts in the area. This is my attempt to make an Amish style wall hanging using muted solids in a traditional basket pattern. It is all cotton and hand quilted.

Baskets All Through the Year By: Susan Phillips, Colorado, USA
I used to weave baskets, so when I found this pattern from Starry Pines Pattern Company, I knew I had to make it! The flannel background fabric is machine pieced and quilted. I hand appliqued the all-wool baskets with a blanket stitch and embroidered the words, using black perle cotton.

I received basket blocks for the Block Swappers’ birthday exchange. The setting and backing fabric came from my stash. (One additional block is pieced into the back.) Pam S. did the beautiful quilting. This will be raffled at our churchwomen’s spring luncheon.

Cranky Quilt By: becky, Utah, USA
This quilt is all about NOT following strict quilting instructions! The corners get cut, nothing matches up– but it is super fun and liberating to do.

Mother Daughter Baskets By: Ginette, Ontario, Canada
My mother and I have been working on this quilt since 1998. I pieced and appliqued the blocks. She assembled the quilt top and pieced the sawtooth border. She also quilted and bound it. It is a Lydia Quigley design.

Norfolk Harvest Wallhanging/Table Topper By: Kaaren Biggs, Ontario, Canada
I loved the Rose & Hubble fabric the first time I saw it but it was very expensive. When it came on sale at half-price, of course I bought twice as much as I really needed – only another quilter could understand that! This is made of leftovers from a queen quilt of the same fabrics and design.

Quilted Table Runner – A Sampler By: KimsCraftyApple, Wisconsin, USA
A gorgeous quilted sampler table runner made from three of the blocks in the 2010 Block-A-Palooza Quilt Along. Fabrics in similar patterns and colors of turquoise, grey, purple and black help to bring each unique block harmoniously together. I did a sampling of quilting to go with each block.

Twig and Berry By: Mary C in WA, Washington, USA
I made this Block of the Month from Hancock Fabrics and quilted it on a friends’ Longarm. The basket in the center is my favorite block. I used it on the back of a quilted jacket too. I love the autumn colors and varied tones for the backgrounds. The flowers on the top borders accent the quilt.

White Baskets and Blooms By: Flourishing Palms, Iowa, USA
Contrary to typical pieced baskets, white fabric was used to make negative-space baskets blocks. Doing so allowed me to give special attention to those areas where I could free-motion quilt feather designs, including elaborate undulating feathers along the borders.

Willie-berger Baskets By: Barbie Kanta, North Carolina, USA
I absolutely love William Morris fabrics and created this quilt with “Willies” and reproduction fabrics. I also love Longaberger baskets so I combined the two in the title, it took me ten years to get around to quilting it, but it is done and a birthday gift to a dear friend this last year.
