I made this wallhanging for a friend’s daughter who was in a dancing troupe called Dancing Notes. Pattern is from Piece by Number, used black for the figures to represent the Notes, splashes of color to represent the lights, and jazz print glitz fabric for border representing the stage.

My daughters repainted their room with tangerine walls, watermelon ceiling and purple trim, so it needed a new quilt. It was a pattern by Pat Sloan in a McCalls magazine. This was the first time I had added beads to a quilt (on the flip flop straps) and entered in our guild show for a 3rd place!

Made for my 13 year old son Mitchell. Mitchell’s footy team is Collingwood. Collingwood is an Australian rules football team and their colours are black and white. I have used white fabrics with black print and black fabrics with white print. It is the stack and slash method.

When our youngest turned 15, we gave her a room makeover. She loves brights so this quilt was made modifying Bonnie Hunter’s Pineapple blossom pattern. THis fit her twin size bed. Her room went from pink to lime green! We hung matching curtains and bead curtains and bright solid pillows. FUN!!!!!

I think this quilt will please a fotball-interested young man when his favorite team has black and white-colored dresses!
What fun to see so many teen quilts! I think this is one of the most challenging of categories and all of these quilters have done a wonderful job. A big thumbs up to everyone but especially to Sharon Vrooman and her “Dancing Notes”…loved how unique this one was!
