As You Witch As You Witch
By: Regina Arlauckas, New York, USA

This was a quilt of firsts – first attempt at kaleidoscope blocks, first free motion quilting, and first yo-yo’s. I wanted to play with fabric I had on hand – and that was Halloween witch fabric (used also in the borders). White sheet on back w/ black yo-yo spiders on webs formed from the FMQ.

Close the Windows at Halloween Close the Windows at Halloween
By: Linda Hicks, Texas, USA

The “Attic Window” block pattern reminded me of the open spaces/big skies of my recent reunion trip to Texas. Thinking the results too garish, I happily found an exotic transparent Halloween fabric. I placed it atop to float and ripple like ghosts coming in the windows…a memento mori!

This was my son Jason’s first quilt, made when he was just 6 years old. He designed and cut the applique, and maneuvered the quilt around under the machine while I pressed the presser foot to sew each piece down and to sew on the binding. He tied the quilt using buttons that he bought online.

This is my spookiest Halloween quilt! The pattern came from a Fons and Porter magazine years ago. I quilted pumpkins and vines and put candy corn fabric on the back

Witchy Witch Witchy Witch

I have very little halloween decorations any longer. Seems that as I get older the holidays come too quickly and are gone by the time I remember to decorate for it. But I took an applique class from Patrick Lose and then bought this fun pattern. Simple, but fits my style.
