A By: donataquilts, Switzerland
I made this quilt to celebrate the twenty-fifth wedding anniversary of my friend Angelica and her husband Alberto, “A” being the first letter of both their names. I looked into dozens of different fonts to find the right ones in order to have a wide variety and several sizes of “A”s to choose from.

Crazy 55th Anv. Pillow By: CRstitchery, Illinois, USA
My adopted parents celebrated their 55th anninversary recently. Because they have ‘everything’ by now, I decided to do a small crazy quilt (that many years just may drive us there!) with ‘before’ and ‘after’ pictures. Realizing they wouldn’t have any place to hang it – I made it into a pillow.

Marine Snow By: Sylvia, Georgia, USA
Marine Snow is the term for dead algae and detritus as they sink to the ocean depths, providing food for animals that live in the deep. My fiance is a scientist specializing in the study of marine snow, so I made this quilt for him as a birthday gift.

Oh, that Surf Artisan has my name written all over it! I’ve just collected fabric (27 different!) for a Moonglow, and to be honest, most of it is batik! I can’t wait to get started!!
Pewter by Lunn Studios!! Makes me drool!
My favorite Batik is the Rainbow Cotton Batik because it has ALL the colors :)
I love batiks – silver serindipity is lovely!
I love the Tonga dimes in copper !
Wow! So many beautiful quilts ;0) it was really hard to choose just one. Good luck everyone.
If it weren’t ‘illegal’ I would go door to door in my neighborhood, using everyone’s computers, until I had voted for every single one of these quilts. The thoughtfulness devoted to the creation of each one touched me deeply. And I WILL be making a placemat size Birthday quilt for my one and only granddaughter who soon will move far, far away. She will have a reminder of Grandma Lindy. Thank you for that sharing!
I’m like you ,it was hard to just pick one, so I picked two, lol.Amethyst & Wineberry. Love them!
I thought I answered this already – but my favorites are Plum and Amethyst… too hard to choose between them.
I couldn’t even see Rachel’s Garden even after adjusting my screen. I finally could clip a corner of it to click on, but it was after I voted, but that’s ok, I also liked the one I voted on.
I love the Batiks, and I also love the purples, but that turtle batik just took my eye.
Love this Quilt very Original would like to make one myself
nice bright Colors
I love the leaves in shades of green, but I also love AMDM-7030-232 Wineberry by Lunn Studios — a great purple print!
Batik’s are beautiful, my fav is pewter.
Loved all the designs.
The diversity in the quilts for this week’s contest are amazing. Quite inspiring. As to picking my favourite batik…I can only pick one? Nope can only narrow it down to Amethyst and Jewel.
Before I started to quilt I would see batik fabric and wonder “what in the world?” would I do with that. Then I started to quilt. They’re all gorgeous, but that Hoffman Heather speaks to me.
Oh they all are so pretty – but my favorites are the Tonga Navy Ethnic Paisley and the Silver Serendipity.
I like all of the quilts but my favorite is marine snow.
The one called Pacific Batik (blue with lots of dots) is my favorite. It was really hard to choose.
First off, the quilts are wonderful. I really had a tough time voting for just one.
The batik I really liked is the Sunny Glow Batik Orchid. I would probably have a tough time cutting into the beautiful fabric though :)
Gosh the pressure! It’s up to US to choose a winner but they are ALL so pretty!
i love the purple one that looks like it has grapes on it. such a perdy fabric. but there are sooooo many that I would love to get my hands on.
The choice of fabrics is fabulous. I chose jewel, but I like so many more. Just so many that are beautiful.
I came to vote, but I don’t have the option to vote. This site states that means someone at home already voted. How can that be if I am the only one using my IP address–and the only one home, and this is my first visit to this site?
I followed a link here, but found that AFTER I submitted my comment, the buttons appeared and the results were gone for voting. I have now since voted, so I would recommend refreshing if anyone else followed a link here and did not have the option to vote.
I liked that birthday quilt and it remind me of my friend…..Paige. :-) Ohhhhh, those batiks! Lovely! I have always liked quilts made in batiks but only recently bought my own little stash and made a tablerunner with them. Uh oh! Hooked on another type of fabric. Can’t get enough of them! LOL! The one I’d pick is one called Crocus by Hoffman. It caught my eye right away. I would love the chance to win more batiks!
Love the Orchard Rust, but would be happy with any orange-my favorite color! Thanks for the chance to win!
What fabulous entries! I love hearing the stories of the love that went into these quilts! Thanks quilters!
I love the blue turtles!
I think they are all worthy of being in a stash but the Tawny Batik caught my eye as it would fit in with a quilt I have ready to go.
I love the pacific blue batik!
The Blue turtles is fabulous
I adore the lilac nature’s rhythm! I adore many of the purple batiks!
Pacific Batik is lovely.
I am in love with Rachel’s garden – so unique and personal.
great batiks – love the crocus and anything orange.
plum is my fave batik :)
OOOH Fabulous PINK, I could just roll in this batik and float up to the clouds in happiness. Official color and response: Pink Tonal Batik HI (as order no states).
Bright you say? Well that is just one of the delicious things about it. Pink is my favorite color and I collect pink batiks. I have LOTS of them. So this jumped right out and said “I am the one” no others will come close.. and they didn’t, really
Well, it’s as toss-up on the batik’s the orange pineapple and the blue dolphins…………..oh heck, I need them both!!!
Also Rachel’s Garden is stunning.
The Hoffman Heather has a wonderful variety of colors. The Paradise Beach Ocean is great, too – it’s dolphins, how can I resist!
granny…love it
