I cut out some shapes with my Big Shot and wanted to try stippling with invisible thread around the shapes. I started with a simple block and kept adding until it was the size of a pillow and then quilted it.

“Candy Hearts” is my first mini quilt I made in 2006. I love to hang it on my cubicle wall at work in February and get lots of comments. I used alot of different stitches, including a heart stitch.

This was my President quilt from my guild–The guild with heart. Each fan block was pieced and partially embellished by members of my guild. I finished the embroidery, added over 300 buttons, and a crazy quilted border, and then hand quilted it. It says love to me.

I made this quilt in 2000 to celebrate the Millennium. It is one of 12 quilts, one for each month’s holiday/seasonal theme. Inspiration for each design came from memories of the town where I grew up as well as memories of my kids. :-) I love Valentines and hearts, in fact, I’m “Crazy for Hearts”!!!

Hearts was the theme for my daughter’s wedding so for her shower I made her this wallhanging. I did clam shell quilting on this as it represented the top curves of a heart. She loves close by so making this as a surprise was a bit of a challenge, but I did.

I made this for my great-Grand-daughter Gracie for christmas, my friend Zelda made the hearts for me. I sewed them on the blocks with a blanket stitch, then quilted around all the hearts to make them puff out w/in the ditch quilting around each block.

I used the Rhapsody in Bloom pattern from the latest Quiltmaker magazine. I am a member of the Scrap Squad and had already made a scrappy quilt with the pattern, but wanted to try a small 2-color project. The fabrics are from a Fat Quarter Pack won in a blog giveaway.

This is the result of a very small row robin I was in with my local quilt club. The non-traditional ‘red’ was used to match the accent wall in my living room. There is machine embroidery, free motion lettering, piecing and ‘instant’ applique. Happy Valentine’s Day everyone!

I made this quilt a few years ago for my daughters birthday, she was born less than a week after valentines day so I thought this was perfect. She still sleeps with this quilt. It was one of the first quilts I ever made.

This table runner was adapted from a pattern for a wall hanging in Jan/Feb 2010 McCalls Quilting Magazine. written for machine piecing, I adjusted the border, hearts, and applique to fit the amount of fabric in my stash.

The circle in the center is comprised of the trimmings from the silk and velvet fabric samples, lace, and ribbons used to make the crazy-patchwork hearts

    The Other Mary agrees with the first Mary. ( I have to get more creative with my tag name.) “Spectrum of Love” just called to me, but they are all great representaions of what Valentine’s Day is all about.
