Here’s my entry for Amy’s Blogger’s Quilt Festival.

Amy's Creative Side - Blogger's Quilt Festival

I made this Springtime Chubby Chicks quilt for my folks earlier this year to celebrate them moving into a new house. The pattern is from Black Mountain Quilts, the green chick fabric is from Pat Sloan’s Nikki line and the chicks are assorted 1930’s scraps.

Testing the layout.

The chicks were done with a machine blanket stitch.

Machine blanket stitch.
All stitched, ready to be layered and quilted.

I did a small meander around each chick and 1/2 circles in the pin wheels. The borders have a larger meander stitch.

Quilting!

I used Quilter’s Dream Poly request weight for the batting. I love this batting as it is very thin and easier than others to manipulate through my machine and it washes up beautifully.

All done.
Quilted puffy goodness.

Head over to Amy’s to see the Blogger’s Quilt Festival.

Spoooooooky quilts! Check out this week’s quilt contest and vote for your favourite Halloween quilt.
