Some great quilts here from some very talented quilters! Quite inspirational.
This is an incredible collection of quilts! The thought and inspiration behind them is a great read.
I have to say… I don’t think I have ever seen a portrait quilt and I am quite taken with these!! All of the quilts are wonderful, but these amaze me.
I have enjoyed viewing all of these! Good luck to all the entries!
I look forward to Friday mornings because of the weekly quilt contest; this morning didn’t disappoint! 🙂
Some of those are stunning, while others are touching. The Belly Portrait is hilarious!! I should try that for MY husband!!!!
I just purchased “Remembering Adelia” by Kathleen Tracy which along with quilt patterns includes Adelia’s real life diary entries. It was an interesting read and I can’t wait to try some of the wonderful patterns. Thanks very much for a chance. Really enjoyed all of this weeks amazing entries.
I’m currently re-reading the ‘Aunt Dimity’ series of books by Nancy Atherton, and also the ‘Harry Potter series (again). I was touched by the article about Lexa’s Angel quilt.
Beautiful work. I am in awe of the talented ladies who created these quilts.
I enjoy seeing the entries for each themed contest.
since my husband went to heaven the day before our 30 th, i have a specal thought for those who get to celebrate theirs
I am currently reading a ‘Carolyn Blue’ mystery, but my favorite is Teri Thatcher! Love her!
Loved the sailor quilt, what a wonderful tribute to her Dad
I just finished the last Jennifer Chaverrini book about Hawaii, The Aloha Quilt. I’m looking forward to her next one that’s just been released.
Loved the sailor quilt. Interesting background story.
The colors, the details…amazing!
I needed to see this, to find the inspiration to get out my paints and fabrics again!
Beautiful works here! Would love to learn to make one myself.
These are all so great, it was tough to choose. Good luck to all the entrants!
I just finished reading “Room” by Emma Donoghue. Very interesting take on what happens to a kidnapped young girl and her baby by the kidnapper. It’s told from the little boys point of view. My favorite author is Sandra Dallas esp. The Persian Pickle Club.
Beautiful quilts! It was hard to pick just one!
Wow. These portraits are really impressive. Maybe something like this will be on my 20-year plan! 🙂
I have really enjoyed viewing the entries each week. The world is full of some very talented people.
nice work. so creative. sailor is my fave.
Beautiful work, it is so hard to choose. Made my choice though, it was tough. Good luck to everyone.
I have great admiration for all the entrants in this competition.
It’s a pity we can’t have 3 votes.
I am reading the Jennifer Chaverini books…..but at the moment, I am ogling over the Rose of Sharon book wondering which block I am going to make!!!!
Great quilts….love each and every one of them….all are inspirational!
Wonderful quilts……….I especially like the quilt of the Dad as a sailor. I am sure he loves the quilt.
I am currently readingU is for Undertow, by Sue Grafton. I love mysteries, so would love to read this book. Thanks for the chance to win.
My most recent read was Cold Night Beauty by Jane Bierce, a quilter who incorporates quilting into “clean” romance stories–some with mysteries– that are available as e-books as well as in print. A great writer and great quilter!
Loved the quilts, all quite lovely.
Wow such a variety of quilts. I really enjoyed looking at them and reading their story. I would love to win your giveaway book.
I look forward to viewing the weekly contest entries and this week’s are OUTSTANDING! Rather ironic that the prize book is a mystery and the “Mona Lisa” smiles on many of the quilts lend themselves to mysteries!
I am currently reading the Outlander series and also love to read 3+ books at a time while an audio book is always in the car…and the local library is a great $ource for them! Sue Grafton, Sandra Dallas, Jennifer Chiaverini, James Patterson, and Patricia Cornwell are often my go to authors…and I’m a Twerd!
What a great group of quilts!
great quilts! My favorite authors are Catherine Coulter,Nora Roberts, Jane Austen and Jennifer Chiaverini. I am rereading her series and am on the Runaway Quilt right now.
Wonderful quilts, very well done. Enjoyed viewing them and voting. Thanks again, Michelle for all your work for the pleasure of the rest of us.
Parabéns pelos maravilhosos trabalhos. Difícil escolher, pois são valiosos.
I have read the books in both series and have been patiently waiting for the next ones! Nice to know it is now available. The quilts displayed were really good and it was hard to pick a favourite.
I loved all the quilts, so beautiful. I haven’t done audio books yet, still in the stone age with actual hard copies. I am currently reading Factory Girls by Leslie T. Chang.
These quilts are all very beautiful. I try to vote every week and this week it was really hard to decide! Coming from a three generation military family, “My Dad the Sailor” had to win out.
Didn’t think there was an author left who I hadn’t read ! Have added Laura Childs to my list.
I’m always reading something, but lately it’s just been lots of quilting magazines – thank goodness for the library! The last novel I read was The Aloha Quilt by Jennifer Chiaverini.
Thanks for organising for us to like at more interesting quilts. Amazing lots of talented people. I would love to win this book. I don’t have much time for reading but always make time for interesting books. I have recently read My sisters Keeper.
All of the quilts are lovely. It was hard to pick just one. Every last one is a winner in my book.
Those portraits are lovely but I especially like the “My Wee One”, that one is beautyful!
My lastet books that I’ve read are the ones that a swedish woman named “Mari Jungstedt” has wrote. They are also available in english!
Great selection of portrait quilts. There are so many talented quilters in the world today.
awesome work by all
Hi! I am fabricpainter from above, so this doesn’t count as an entry! However, I just want to say how flattered I am to be able to have a quilt in this contest with these other superbly talented quilters! There is so much talent out there and it is great to have a forum like this to see each other’s work!
I’m currently reading the SisterChicks series.
I love to read Marie Bostwicks Cobbled Court Quilt Circle books. I started reading them when I saw a book of hers titled “A Single Thread”. It inspired me to quilt more and heal from losing my oldest Son. As I thought I was hanging by a single thread at the time.
My favorite quilts are the Sailor and the lady w/fan
These Quilts are fantastic. I want to make a memorie Craszy Quilt and I just hope it tirns out half as nice as these. The picture quilts aresomething to aspire too. What a honor to her Dad the Sailor. My Dad served in the Army in WWII. I will be honoring him in my quilt although he will never see it. He passed in 1990
Beautiful quilts! I have just finished up reading the “Girl witthe Dragon Tatoo” trilogy.
Loved the quilts! I hope to enter a quilt in this contest soon…
I just wanted to say that I loved the Sailor quilt. I think it is just the best and how cool that the maker’s dad likes the quilt and can enjoy it!
I love Laura Childs books. Right now I am re-reading some of Earlene Fowler books. Thanks for the chance to win a book. Hugs
