I havew so many flowers right now, but I always stand by my marigolds. They don’t smell the best, but they are so hardy in our crazy Kansas weather. All the different colors of yellows and golds just light up my garden (and keep the bugs away) and around our house. Love them!
I absolutely love iris. I have 60 feet of them growing in front of my barn. What makes them even more special is that my granddaughter (11 at the time) planted each bulb for me.
There were so many great quilts. It was so hard to choose. My favorite flower in my garden is the Poppy.
The favorite flower I have blooming now is a dark red rose.
No contest it’s day lilies! We have them from palest yellow to darkest purple. They bloom all summer and require only minimum care. I would much rather put my time into quilting than into gardening!
My favorite flower in my garden is my Hydrangias, especially the one my dear friend gave me when she was dying of cancer. I looked after her and another mutual friend gave her this Hydgranger for Easter. She enjoyed it for about 6 weeks and then asked me to plant in my garden. It flourishes every year since I planted it. She passed away holding my hand June 4,2010. I miss her so. But my Hydrangia brings a smile to my face as the beautiful blooms emerge.

I love gardenias. I have two big bushes growing in my front flower garden. Their scent is heavenly. Wish they bloomed longer.
My lilacs are definitely my favorite, and it saddens me that they last such a short time! Thank goodness for my daylilies that provide near constant blooms to cheer me. Speaking of cheering, I received some irises from a friend, and thought for sure they wouldn’t bloom this year since I just planted them, but this morning I saw nearly half a dozen buds! Yay!

I call it a snowball tree, not sure of the real name – there are white hydrangea type flowers. My grandmother passed away in the 1970’s and before the house was sold my mom took a cutting from her tree. After a few years when it became established and I moved into my house, my mom took a cutting and we planted it at my house. That was 15 years ago and now my grandmothers snowball tree is bigger than my house! I think of her when it blooms every early summer.
I love all kinds of flowers but the ones I probably look forward to seeing the most are my beautiful iris in deep purples, rust colors, yellow & white. I wish mine lasted all summer.

Lily of the Valley. I love their wonderful fragrance!
My favorite flowers that are blooming right now are the small native irises. Beautiful, but each month has a different favorite.
Since I live in the desert, our flowers are all cactus flowers. My favorite is the floral “hats” the Saguaro’s wear each spring. The Saguaro cactus takes hundreds of years to grow, and the blooms atop the cactus which form what appears to be a pill “hat” become pods that drop off to start new cactus. But most are eaten by animals, and the few that do take off, will take a hundred years just to get a few feet in height. The Saguaro are most prevalent in a “forest” that winds up from Tucson to just north of Phoenix in Arizona. I live at the very northern edge of the forest.
My favorite is my daisy bush with white flowers its always stunning in winter 🙂

My favorite has to be my golden dew drops bushes, mostly because their beautiful dangling clusters of purple bring hummingbirds, bumblebees, and all kinds of butterflies, almost all year long!
My other favorite has to be my plumeria – I call it “stick plant” and we’ve raised it up from a little stick in the dirt, about 5 inches high. It’s about 5 years old now and the main trunk is about the size of my forearm, it has 3 branches at the top (which is about 7 feet high!!) and it smells heavenly when it’s in bloom.

I love lilacs…so pretty and love the scent.
Right now I have no flowers in my yard. The rental house has rock and ponderosa pines. I’m up at 6500 feet. If I had flowers, I love freesias and old fashioned scented roses (not the hybrids)
Right now I have my peonies blooming. This is the best year ever. Even the new one that didn’t even sprout last year has the largest hot pink bloom. Unfortunately peony season is only 2-3 weeks long!
Wow! I need to take pictures so I can make my own fabric from these glorious blooms.
Nice quilts. Pretty fabric. 🙂 I wish I had a garden. There are gardenia bushes in the front and they make me gag. There is one pretty flower on the other side of the house. It looks like an upside down spider lily. Very pretty.
