  • Here’s a charming and unique tutorial for a Suitcase Pincushion written in German and English. The great photos are very useful.

  • Here’s a free pattern from Moda, Funky Monkey, that’s sure to put a smile on anyone’s face and result in lots of giggles. Or, maybe that’s just me.

  • From Mary Quilts comes this free pattern, Heart Strings. What a great way to use up scraps and strips. I have loads of strips left-over from making my Stitch and Flip quilts years ago.

  • Ever tried the Origami-style of folding fabric? Here’s a great tutorial on making the Cathedral Window Quilt. The instructions with photos are very well done, and the finished quilt is simply gorgeous using the jewel-toned fabrics.

  • Here’s a free pattern from Mary Quilts, Double 4 Patch. The piecing is very simple, yet the overall effect is gorgeous.

  • From De Quiltkat here is their 2007 BOM project, Vintage Quilt. The Vintage Quilt has 12 foundation-pieced block patterns measuring 6 inches square. The finished quilt measures 36″ x 45″.

  • I have been intrigued by hand-made fabric postcards that I see popping up on various web sites, and was delighted to find this wonderful Postcard Tutorial.   • The Blue Mountain Quilters’ Guild has a wonderful Block of the Month in progress, Touch the Stars Sampler. Be sure to check out their other Block of the Month projects, they are gorgeous.

  • Here’s a great quilt for using up scraps, Scrappy Cartwheels AKA Whirlygiggles. The instructions are well done.

  • From Block Central, is this simply gorgeous quilt, Patchwork Panache. It was the Block of the Month pattern for 2007. It’s a large one, finishing at 99″ square.
