2010 Wall Hanging Blue Moon By: angie/sweetbabies00, Texas, USA
2010 came in under a Blue Moon and I love Blue Moons. I wanted my whole year to be reminded of that. Once in a “Blue Moon”. Well, cupcakes, it’s now! See the 2 full moons on the quilt to show the meaning of the second full moon of the month. Happy New Year everyone!

Annie’s Calendar By: Kelly Wenhold, Pennsylvania, USA
Multi-colored redwork- I had to laugh to myself when I hung my calendar quilt on New Year’s Day which was made in July08. The name of the quilt design is Annie’s Calendar. So here’s the funny party our newest addition to our family, who turned eight mths old on New Year’s Day, is our puppy Annie.

Fireworks By: Mary on Lake Pulaski, Minnesota, USA
Fireworks is my first completely hand pieced and hand quilted quilt. It is made from one Charm Pack of Spirographix by Bernatex. I created Fireworks for a challenge for One Pack Dolly quilts. The quilt was a gift for my great niece who is the miracle survivor of a dog attack.

It’s Five O’clock somewhere in German By: Jean Shores, Nebraska, USA
This is a wall quilt made from Pat Sloans applique patterns. I actually made two of these quilts, one for my daugher and one for my daughter in law, who happens to be Austrian. I did the words in German on my Daughter in law’s quilt. Somewhere there is always a party on New Years.

Party Time (Cinzia White) By: Cinzia White, Australia
I was given the fabrics and their brightness suggested a lively party and so the name evolved. I gave it to one of my nieces when her son Samuel was born and he has always loved it because of these same colours and the brightness.

Party Time (Jeanne McBrayer) By: Jeanne Turner McBrayer, North Carolina, USA
My quilt is a postcard that was sold as part of a cancer fundraiser at a Capital Quilters Guild show in Raleigh. It features fussy-cut circles, silk appliques, and lots of machine stitching in shiny threads. Looks like a party to me!

Productive Time Burst By: Patricia Kent Szymanski, New Hampshire, USA
This is a miniature paper-pieced quilt that took 1265 pieces to complete. Its name was conceived from the fact that I created on it on my old high school sewing machine while the new one was in the repair shop. “Productive Time Burst” is a great motivator for me to enter the New Year with goals!

Surprise By: Elvira Illig, Illinois, USA
Our guild has a quilt challenge. You draw a word (I drew the word SURPRISE), and you’re supposed to come up with a little quilt (60″ perimeter at the most) with this ‘theme’. Of course, I drew this word several months ago. I finally started today, and it will be quilted tomorrow!

I loved the Blue Moon one. It is modern, and reminds me of a combo of newspaper headlines, and pictures, and it’s so light and airy, it makes me feel like I can just BREATH EASILY :)))
