For this week’s Delightful Stars Quilt-Along (DS QAL) lesson we are making Block #19, cutting sashing strips and joining Section G.
Block #19 is the fourth in the series of sawtooth star blocks. This one has a a square-in-a-square centre section:
Most, but not all, of the star blocks in this quilt will be surrounded by sashing strips so that the stars float in the background and don’t touch each other. To cut multiple strips of fabric the same size, I use my June Tailor Shape Cut Ruler. This is one of my highly recommended, time-saving, tools.

When we can, we will be sewing the centre blocks together into seven sections, that will then be joined together in August to complete the centre top section. This week, we’ve joined Section G which appears in the bottom, right corner:
