my favorite batting is dream select 80/20 and i use it for machine quilting…peg in ks
My favorite batting is Warm and Natural, and I use it for machine quilting.
My favorite batting is Warm and Natural in bamboo – it is amazing and so, so soft!!!
My favorite batting is the one I can get on sale for 50% off! Seriously, I am ashamed to say I don’t buy just one certain brand but do prefer cotton blends for ‘bed’ quilts and fusible for art quilts. I truly do buy what is on sale when I need to get batting. I am lucky that we have quite a few stores that sell battings of several different brands.
My favorite batting is warm and natural, I use it for machine quilting!
I like a 80/20 cotton blend. I use it for machine quilting.
I like to use a cotton batting. I always hand quilt my quilts and I think this makes a very pretty quilt. I don’t have a favorite brand. I would love to win. Thanks so much for the chance.
I always use Warm Blend batting. It provides just the right loft for my needs in all my projects. I do machine quilting.
I use Warm and Natural. I like the feel when it is done. I do machine quilting.
I use warm and natural . I use it for all my quilting projects.
I just use 100% cotton or bamboo, anything natural is what I look for.
No favorite. I let my machine quilters choose for each of my quilts.
My favorite is Fairfield’s Bamboo batting. I love the feel, the ease to work with and the drape of the quilt.
My favorite betting is Warm and Natural, not that I’ve tried too many battings. Once I used this I was happy and haven’t used anything else.
I use cotton batting – usually warm and natural because that’s what my guild sell and they get it for a quantity discount. I only machine quilt (I’m sure I’d never finish anything if I tried to hand quilt!). I have used polyester for a bit more puff on wall hangings – but I don’t use it on things that will get washed because I’ve had bearding issues.
Warn and Natural or Warm and White, use it for all my quilts.
I love Quilters Dream, but have a hard time finding it! I usually use Warm and Natural, as it’s easy to find.
Depends of the project. I like Warm & Natural and Pellon 80/20
I love Warm and Natural for most things but Bamboo drapes beautifully for others.
I use Warm & Natural for all my quilts. I love how it washes up after I machine quilt.
I mostly machine quilt and mainly use Hobbs 80/20. I am hand quilting a large quilt using 100% wool and it is so easy to stitch. Have yet to try a wool batt with the machine.
I have only used batting once, and it’s Hobbs 80/20. It was great. I am in the process of learning to quilt a 1600 batik quilt. First one I have ever sewn, sandwiched, and fixin’ to quilt.
I use Hobbs 80/20 fusible batting. It works for me. Thanks.
I like to use Warm and Natural for machine quilting.
I really like Quilters Dream – both the poly and the cotton. I can get just the weight I want. pretty close to perfect.
I live in the Middle East so batting is unbranded and you have to go searching for it and buy lots when you find it. I’ve got a compressed type of 100% cotton used by the curtain shop for padding the valance over curtains. Once I found 100% cotton that I save and use for my favourite quilts. At a craft shop I can usually fine the non-cotton batting which makes a quilt dry well and feel cuddly.
I use Warm and Natural for machine quilting.
I use Warm and Natural or Warm and White. First choice, always. Occasionally I use Quilters Dream Select 80/20.
Warm & natural is all i have used so far.
I use Warm & Natural or Warm & White. I’ve only machine quilted.
I use any polyester batting. Because that’s what my Memaw always used. And I only hand quilt.
Warm and natural is my favorite
I use Quilters Dream for machine quilting.
I’m a Warm & Natural fan, whether I’m hand or machine quilting. I just love that stuff! It’s thin and drapes nicely and it feels good when I touch it. ๐
I have been using Warm and Natural Natural or Warm and White, but I am starting to explore others. I used a bamboo batting on one of my most recent quilts. I do machine quilting.
I use whatever I can afford. Since I’m not working now, I use what is the cheapest.
I usually use what is available, but I really like Dream Select 80/20 best, it’s horribly dusty when quilting, but the results are fabulous.
I machine quilt, I don’t particularly like hand quilting.
Thanks for the chance!
What ever I can get my hands on! I’m still learning, so I prefer very simple machine quilting.
Warm and natural is my go to choice. Love it!
My favorite is warm and natural. I like handquilting, just now I am quilting on a small machine and it is a struggle ๐
I recently tried quilter’s dream brand for the first time, loving it. I machine quilt on my domestic sewing machine.
My gosh, it was hard to choose just four!!! They are all beautiful, and there were so many that were just outstanding & magnificent!
My fave batting is Warm & Natural, but I scored a really good deal on Hobbs 80/20, so I can’t wait to bust that puppy open and use it too. My long-armer used that in my first quilt, and I love it, so I’m sure I’ll be pleased with my next one too!
I love the “Dream” batting. And have also just started using “Legacy”. Doesn’t give that crease when the quilt is folded up. Both are very nice to me.
I really like Hobbs 80/20 for larger quilts with a lot of detail, it drapes really well and isn’t too heavy.
I mostly use Warm and White for my machine quilted quilts.
I use quite a lot of Dream Puff or other synthetics – and I usually end up hand quilting because I’m scared of ruining my lovely patchwork by squidging it through the machine! (I’m lazy – I never tack the layers together, just use lots of pins!)
I don’t have a favorite brand. I generally use what I can get on sale. I like fleece and cotton the best.
Mountain Mist Cream Rose has become my go-to batting for bed quilts. I love the soft hand and crinkly texture it gives my quilts.
I prefer bamboo batting because it is lightweight, needles well and drapes beautifully.
I like Quilters Dream, but I do use Warm & Natural too. It depends on the quilt!
I use 80/20 all the time!
I base my batting choice on what I’m making, whether a bed quilt, home accessory or garment. Sometimes I select based on what I have in my personal resource center (stash).
I am just a beginner don’t know what my favorite is, but I like the feel of silkbatting very much.
I usually choose Warm and Natural, but it depends on the quilt. Next I want to try a wool batting.
I don’t really know about the different brands, I buy whatever the store keeps it seems.
I use Warm & Natural, I like to use cotton and a thin batting is heavy enough in the south.
I use warm and natural but the LQS has bamboo batting that I’d like to try, it is so soft and moves so nicely.
Warm and Natural is my favorite and I stock up when it’s on sale. I use it for machine quilting, which is the only kind of quilting I do. Kudos to those who do hand quilting! Great quits this week as always.
Hobbs- Polydown for me, it quilts nicely and although I machine quilt, it can be hand quilted.
I love Quilters Dream but I use Hobbs generally as it is easier for me to purchase.
This weeks quilts are outstanding. I needed more than 4 votes this week. Congrats to all who have entered.
Those jewel rounds are absolutely beautiful.
JeanneZ
My favourite is Tuscany by Hobbs. It makes my quilts warm but not stiff after quilting iike Warm & Natural.
I love Warm & Natural, I have used other brands but I always go back to W&N.
Cheryl
I’m not brand loyal as I do have to shop the sales. But I always use cotton or a mostly cotton blend (80/20). I would LOVE to try wool batting as well.
I’ve only used Warm & Natural so I guess it must be my favorite. Maybe I’ll eventually branch out and buy something different if I can get it on a great sale.
I just use what ever is on sale. Thanks for the giveaway.
I like Warm & Natural best so far but I use what I can get here in Mexico.
I’d love batting with organics but we don’t have any here, in Uruguay.
We have only two options (plain guata or guatina) and both are synthetic.
I use Warm and Natural most of the time but I’m thinking of trying a silk batting for my next quilt.
I really love Warm and Natural, but I am open to trying others if highly recommended by someone I know.
Warm and Natural for quilts.
But for table runners – Woolen yardage that is prewashed and pressed. Lies nice and flat and isn’t too thick or poofy. (I am wary of candlesticks on thickly batted table runners.)
I use 2 favorite battings for all my machine quilting. I use high loft Mountain Mist for bed quilts – I like my quilts soft & cushy. For wallhangings I always use Warm & Natural cotton batting – the heavier weight of it helps the wall quilts hang just right.
I’m new to quilting so I don’t have a favorite yet. Looks like a great giveaway. Thanks!
Wow, it was really, really hard to vote for just one this week. What gorgeous quilts and beautiful work!!! My favorite batting is Quilter’s Dream. I usually use the Quilter’s Dream Blend for machine quilting, but I have used other battings in their line, and I love them all.
I really haven’t found a batting I don’t like. Depending, I use wool, bamboo, polyester and cotton and I really haven’t seem a lot of difference in how they quilt. Wait, I did try to use an unbonded, polyester, high loft someone brought for me to use. Still good for tieing a quilt but disaster for machine quilting. I won’t do that again! Thanks. Those are gorgeous gems.
My favorite batting is Thermore by Hobbs. It hand quiilts like a dream, but is light weight for those of us who live in warm climates (Texas). Just love it.
I don’t have favorite yet. I’m trying out what’s available in local stores. Thx.
I have used warm and natural exclusively (everything I quilt is machine quilted), but I have been thinking of trying 80/20 and hand quilting some small wall hanging quilts. Thanks for the opportunity to win!
I have tried several brands and weights. Most don’t need to be quilted any closer than six inches, although I really love the look of heavy quilting, it adds so much texture and such a finished look.
I don’t have a favorite brand, but I like the bamboo batting that is available.
Warm and Natural has the texture I like for hand quilting.
I use Warm & Natural and I’m machine quilting
Don’t really have a favorite brand. Just far prefer cotton over polyester.
I love Warm & Natural or Warm & White for both hand quilting and machine.
Lovely quilts this week! It was hard to choose!

I don’t have a favorite brand. But I use it for machine quilting. I’m still learning!
I’m not loyal to any particular brand, but I almost always use 80/20. Thanks for the awesome giveaway!
I mostly use wool batting, no particular brand.
Very hard to choose four quilts this week.
I usually use warm & white or warm & natural, but my quilter loves quilter’s dream!
I like Starburst Wedding Ring!
I love Quilter’s Dream, Warm and Natural and sometimes I use wool. I machine quilt.
I’m not too fussy about brands but here in Australia I use one called Sew Easy (I think!) when I want cotton or a cotton/bamboo blend which I use for machine quilting. If I’m hand quilting I use a high loft wadding such as a wool but don’t have a particular brand for it.
Over the years, I’ve mostly used the Hobb’s Heirloom 80/20, for machine quilting.
I love the “trouvez le coer”. Beautiful colors!
I am a hand piecer so it was fun to see the variety of paper-pieced quilts, even if I would never make any. As for batting, I love “thinsulate” made by 3M. I think it is intended for clothing and I can buy it on the roll in assorted lofts. I like it because it has a tacky feeling and does not need a whole lot of basting, and stays put while hand quilting, Even the thinnest has a nice high loft. My sister living in the stated can.t seem to buy it there which is strange. Japanese battings come in sealed plastic so there is no way to know what you are buying until you take it home and open the package. The only thing you know is the size … in centimeters of course.
I almost always use Warm & Natural. I’ve used polyester some but don’t care too much for it. Warm & Natural is easier to work with. I do only machine quilting. All of this week’s quilts were wonderful. It was hard to choose only 4.
I love warm and natural and use it for everything! I find it faubulous to work with!
Sorry, I don’t know the brand name but it’s a fusible from my LQS. They also have a none fusible that is mostly poly that I like for baby blankets since they get washed so much.
I use Hobbs Tuscany wool for machine quilting. Soft and lightweight. Drapes beautifully. Quilting really shows up….
I’ve been using the “warm” battings (natural, white & black). I love the 100% cotton but I’m looking to try wool!
I like Warm & Natural or Warm & White for my machine quilting. Haven’t done any hand quilting before.
I like the thinner, natural fiber ones (so far) – I’ve not quilted long enough to have settled on a particular brand yet. ๐
The batting I’ve used most frequently is the Hobbs brand- the Hobbs Natural Cotton as well as the Hobbs Polydown.
Both are great for machine quilting.
I like warm and white. I have done both hand and machine quilting
I am just beginning, so my opinion may not mean much, but I like warm and natural cotton!
I like to use The Warm Company Warm and White or Warm and Natural for machine quilting. I like the feel of the finished quilts for both traditional cotton quilts and also for T-shirt quilts.
Quilters Dream Request is my favorite lightweight batting, and Warm & Natural my favorite every day batting.
quilter’s dream request is my favorite batting
I use hobbs cotton 80/20 for most quilts I machine quilt and it works very well for me I have some wool from hobs but haven’t got the courage up to use it yet.
I most often use Quilters Dream Request, either the cotton or the poly. I quilt everything by hand. They quilt up beautifully, and the cotton has minimal shrinkage, which I prefer.
I love Anne Cloud’s quilt. It is simply gorgeous.
I use warm & natural for both hand and machine quilting. lots of beautiful quilts this contest. It was hard to choose.
Warm and Natural is such a nice fabric to work with when machine quilting! But Hobbs 80/20 is great for showing off the stitching so its a toss up!
I really enjoy using “soft and bright” batting made by the warm company…its affordable and I love the feel and weight of it.
I use Warm & Natural batting. I have not tried hand quilting yet; all of mine are done on machine!
I love the Hobbs 80/20 batting, it has a nice feel to it; I only do machine quilting now but someday I’d like to try a small project to hand quilt—just haven’t taken that step yet!
So far I have only used Warm & Natural for machine quilting and I like it.
I like Hobbs 80/20 blend.
Hobbs Tuscany wool is my choice as we need warm quilts here for winter. I do buy other brands as well if on sale.
I’ve started using quilters dream. I love the light weight and warmth.
I’m a fan of Warm and Natural for hand and machine quilting. It works wonderfully for all projects. Although I’ve also just discovered the delightfulness of Hobbs Tuscany silk for special projects. . .
I like warm and natural for both…
I don’t always stick to the same brand, but I always use cotton batting. It just breathes so much better than polyester. ๐
I only use Winline 100% Bamboo….. it is soft, comfy, nonallergic, anti-bacterial and gorgeously green. Feels similar to a silk batt at an affordable price. I always machine quilt.
I love warm and natural for the quilts I make for those that live in warm/hot climates – and Hobbs wool for those that live in the cold climates. Both have served me well.
I don’t have a favorite batting. I’ve always used what I could find in a small town. That means if Walmart doesn’t have it, I haven’t used it. LOL. I always machine quilt on my simple little Brother machine.
I use morning glory polyester lowloft. My machine won’t sew anything very thick and this works well and easy to get. ๐
I like The Warm Company… Warm and natural
I don’t have a favorite, as long as its cotton. I machine quilt my quilts
I am very new to quilting but I have found that I enjoy warm and natural! I only machine quilt right now. Thanks for a wonderful blog!!
