Halloween FUN Contest

This was an embroidery block of the month from Country Loft where the pattern maker resides. I ran with the embroidery and added some applique’.

This quilt started with the paper-pieced witch hats and candy corn and grew from there. Note the spider in the upper right corner. BOO is pieced ala Tonya Ricucci. Machine pieced and quilted.

Frankenstein is a Nancy Halvorsen “Art to Heart” pattern from her book, Acorn Hallow. It was originally for a tea towel, but I used the pattern for a wall quilt and added the word “boo” along with the spider web quilting.

When a fellow PTO member at my son’s school said she couldn’t make a quilt to raffle off this year, I offered to make one – in 2 weeks!
It was well liked, made good money for the PTO, my son’s classmate’s family won it – it made me very happy!

After I took my first quilting class I decided to make a Halloween quilt. I made the design up as I went along. I had NO IDEA what I was doing! It took me a while to make it all fit together. It’s still one of my favorite quilts. I have learned a lot since then!!

still can’t resist when I see something that would look

I made this when I was part of a Party With Patrick (Lose) monthly group at a local quilt shop. It hangs outside my front door for the month of October and I have eleven other seasonal wallhangings which I rotate -they each have a sleeve so they are easy to slide on and off the special hanger.

The quilt was completely designed by me, one block at a time. I wanted a table topper and was inspired after eating some candy corn. Some of the blocks are pieced, some are appliqued, and some have a little of both. I made the spider and web with stitching. Lots of good puffy quilting makes me :)

Halloween fabric that waited ten years for me to finally decide to create, piece, and quilt. Thanks to M’Liss Rae Hawley for designing the fabric, Frieda Anderson’s applique` leaf inspiration, and Pat Sloan’s UFO Busting to be that final push to finish, machine quilted with outlines and leafy vines.

A fun little scrappy spiderweb quilt. I made this to be a fun potholder for our table. The back is a black and white print so it can be used in any season.

I had to name this “The Monster Mash” b/c every time I see it, I hear the 1962 song by the same name. The monsters in this quilt were designed by Amy Bradley in her “Happy Halloween” pattern. I chose to raw-edge applique and a blanket stitch & quilted it up myself. Very happy with this one.

Made this mini quilt for a blog hop. Hubby’s aunt claimed it. The parts that weren’t hand sewn, were sewn on a vintage hand crank machine, including the quilting and binding.
