Christmas Quilted Gifts

Wow, I had no intention of taking such a long hiatus from blogging. I hope you had a wonderful Christmas shared with family and loved ones. I had a great time visiting with family and friends in the Toronto area for several days. This year, I made two lap-sized quilts, a table runner and some quilted bookmarks.

Here’s the quilt I made for my dad. I bought this fabric in June 2008. It is Tooling Around by Blank Quilting. I designed the pattern in Electric Quilt 6. The quilt finishes at 60" x 80".

quilt-designer-blog-hop

Gudrun Erla of G.E. Designs has invited eleven very cool ladies to have some fun blog-hopping around the country starting today.

Each will post every day sharing favourite Christmas recipes, traditions and stories.

And each day, one of them will share a Christmas/Holiday project with you. Twelve days… twelve free projects. WOW!

There will be prizes!!!

Start your hopping here:

Fun, fun, fun … for everyone!!

For day 1, Gudrun has posted this adorable quilt-as-you-go Sweet Trimmings Christmas tree wall hanging. It’s super cute and very quick to complete as you quilt it at the same as you put the top together. I definitely need to make one of these for myself. Maybe add a few buttons to serve as ornaments too.

A Princess and a Jaguar

I was lucky enough to spend Halloween with my nieces this year. Lucy was the prettiest princess and Alice a very cute Jaguar. It was a windy night, cold and a few sprinkles of rain, but thankfully no snow! Lucy had a fabulous time and made sure to ask everyone for candy for her baby sister Alice too.

Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday Baby Alice

Those that have been around the Quilting Gallery site for a year or more may remember the birth of my Alice Lynne, last Halloween.

This year, I’ll be taking my nieces out trick or treating for the first time. Lucy, at 3.5 years old, is very excited to be a Princess (again!) and Alice will be a pumpkin.

Here are the pumpkins my sister and Lucy made this year.

I’ll post pictures of Alice’s birthday present later in the week.
