Pat Sloan’s “OP” Challenge 2009

Pat Sloan has something funky going on over at her web site, I’ll let her tell you in her own words.

op-challenge

I’m Pat Sloan and I LOVE Orange… I love ALL colors but REALLY love Orange! I love it SO MUCH I’m hosting ‘The OP’ which is a SeW AloNG! during my February Virtual retreat. The VIRTUAL retreat weekend is Feb 20-22, and we always have a BLAST!

To start out head over to the blog and read my post, then send me a photo of your Orange Pile (The OP). If you have a blog put your photo there, add the nifty button with a link to MY blog on your side bar.

During the next few weeks I’ll be giving out little tips, notes ..etc.. on what we’ll be doing (hint.. we’ll make blocks from a pattern I’ll give you and they can then be a QUILT!!)

Besides learning HOW to use your orange fabric we will have a blog hop, which is SO AWESOME as everyone who joins IN the blog hop for my retreat is giving away a PRIZE!! Woot!!

Ok… that’s the peek… you can always get to my SeW AloNG posts by clicking the link on the lower right side bar at my blog.

Quilt for an Hour

There’s a new Quilt for an Hour project starting at the Patchwork Times. The quilt, Shine on Bayou Cane, finishes at 70″ x 81″. Get the fabric requirements now and start cutting.

Instructions, which should take about one hour to complete, will be posted on weekdays beginning Monday, October 6. These Quilt for an Hour projects are always fun and you’ll end up with a completed quilt top in about 15 hours or … 3 weeks!

Star Block of the Month

Star Block of the Month

Judy over at Patchwork Times is offering a free Star Block of the Month type project starting August 1st. There are 13 blocks and 7 different borders. This quilt finishes at 92″ x 92″.

Head on over to Judy’s site to see some other colour variations for the quilt, get the fabric requirements and enter your fabric selections.

I’m hoping, if I’m really good this week and get lots of work done, i.e. that big-a** project I’ve been working on, I can participate in Judy’s next Quiltathon later this week. She even includes menu suggestions to make-ahead so you can spend even more time quilting. What a great idea.

Scott over at Blue Nickel Studios is having a Tootsie Pop Mini Quilt Challenge. These little quilts will be no bigger than 4″ square.. wow that’s tiny. Instructions and sign up information is on Scott’s site.

I can’t remember the last time I saw a Tootsie Roll, but now I’m craving one.

Star Sampler Quilt Along

star-quilt-along

Crazy Mom Quilts has an amazing Star Sampler that she’s presenting as a weekly quilt along. Her directions for putting together each star are fantastic. You can find each weekly installment on the right sidebar.

I plan on putting together a few of the stars and making a table runner or a smaller 4×4 or 6×6 block wall hanging.
