Please note: I do not promote projects, tutorials or web sites that are not free or those that are not of general interest to the quilting community. I do, however, accept advertising, or you can sponsor a weekly contest (info below), submit your products to Quilter’s Market or advertise your quilt shop or quilting web site in the Quilt Shop Locator. You may also submit your Quilting Blog for free.

Also note: I am no longer accepting submissions that promote free give-aways on other blogs. There are just too many requests and I would spend 1/2 my time just doing that. You can add your these yourself to the Quilter’s Forum.

Free Projects and Tutorials

I would be thrilled to feature your FREE project or tutorial on my site. I do ask that you allow me to use a photo as a thumbnail in the blog post. Please email me a link to the tutorial or project. If you have a specific photo you would like me to use, please send it via email, or I’ll take one from your site directly.

If you wish to write a tutorial for this site, that would be fantastic. Let’s discuss.

Sharing Photos

I would be honoured if you allowed me to include photos of your quilts (or quilted projects) on this site. A description or credit will be included, if wanted. Link(s) back to your site, or to your email if you prefer.

Please submit photos with a minimum size of 400px wide and a maximum width of 525px. Send me an email with your photos. If you are sending several photos, you may need to resize them or send each photo in a separate email.

You may also want to enter a weekly themed quilt contest. All entries for the contest should be submitted via this web form during the respective week. Submissions sent via email will not be accepted.

Quilting Charities and Non-Profits

I offer free promotion for quilting-related charities and non-profit organizations that make quilts for others. View previous charity quilting guest posts.

Please send me an email with a brief description of your charity and/or a link to your web site and we can discuss further.

Museum Events and Special Collections

I allow some promotional advertising for quilting-related museum events and special collections. However, there are so many events, I do limit the number I allow at my discretion. Send me an email to discuss. Alternatively, you can add the event yourself to the Quilter’s Forum.

Be a Guest Blogger

First, read other Guest Blogger posts to get an idea of what others have written about.

I don’t have any specific guidelines and I am pretty much open to whatever you would like to write about. I do ask that it not be too commercial or hard-sell in nature. That’s not to say you can’t mention your business adventures, you certainly can, as part of the overall write-up. (I accept advertising, so if you’d like to write specifically about your product or business, drop me an email to discuss.)

Here are some ideas on what you could write about:

your own quilting history, how did you get started quilting
what do you love and/or hate about the process
where you are from, where you’ve been, where you’re going
what you’ve done, awards won, contests entered, personal achievements (smile on a grandchild’s face!)
what technique(s) do you want to learn this year, or further perfect
if you blog, why?
met anyone famous from the quilting world?
do you have a mentor or idol, if so, who and why?
charity efforts, teaching events, retreats, cruises, etc.

Everyone loves to see photos, so I encourage you to include a few with your submission (no more than six please). Please submit photos with a minimum size of 400px wide and a maximum width of 525px

Links to your site(s) should be included in the write up, just put them in brackets, and I’ll link them correctly.

If you’d like to offer a free gift as a contest to readers that answer a question in the comments, that would be fantastic. It’s not required, but appreciated. Contests and asking readers questions always get more response. You would be responsible to ship the prize to the lucky winner.

Content should be written directly in the email you send to me as plain text, or as an attached text document. Please do not use MS Word or another publishing program. Do not embed your write up in the email. Have questions, please ask first!

Ideally, I’d just like to copy and paste the text and not have to edit it in anyway. I do reserve the right to edit and/or refuse to post anything submitted. If you are in doubt if what you wish to talk about is acceptable or not, just email me first.
