Swap Guidelines
The Quilting Gallery and Erin Russek from One Piece at a Time have joined together to bring you this Applique Posy Needle Case Swap. It’s very cute, and super easy to make. Download the free applique pattern.
Erin has created a two-part tutorial showing you step-by-step how to put the needle case together: part 1 and part 2.
For this swap, you may choose the applique method you prefer: needle-turn, liquid starch (check out Erin’s fabulous picture tutorial), fusible web, glue basting or raw edge. However, please make sure that your posy has been secured with stitching, not just fused or glued.
You may choose whatever colour scheme you wish; you do not need to follow the colours used in the example. If you prefer, you can complete your needle case with binding as you would a quilt. You may also choose to quilt the three layers together before adding the inside piece of felt for the needles.
Any particular preferences your partner entered when they registered for the swap, will be sent to you. Make something you’d love to receive and, chances are, your partner will love it too.
Label: We all know the importance of labelling our quilts; however, since this is such a small project, you may wish to write your name, location and date on the back of the needle case, instead of adding a label. The choice is yours.
Registration closes July 5th. Partner information will be sent by July 8th. The deadline to mail your needle case is August 17th for overseas shipments and August 24th for domestic shipments (and between Canada and the USA).
It’s a SECRET swap, so please don’t tell your partner who you are in advance , but go ahead and post pictures of your progress on your blog and in the Flickr group.

Gifts: You are not required to send any additional gifts to your swap partner. You may do so if you wish, but keep in mind the partner assigned to you may not send you any additional goodies.
