I've been working away on my background – decided to do free form curved piecing.  Background is now done, ready for applique, quilting and embellishing.  I've posted a picture in Flickr here's the path  http://www.flickr.com/photos/whatcomesnext/4342332410/

Thank you Michele and CraftyCarm!

and thanks for updating the picture for me Michele, I was going to put it in (I always reduce the size before posting) but wasn't sure if we could do them again, or what size parameters you would want us to use.  Smile

Love the graduated blues.  I could sit and stare at that hanging on the wall for a long time.  Who needs windows with talent like that.

Thanks Anita.  I did some experimenting with stamping using fabric paints, and the sprinkling irridescent glitter on it.  It seemed to work well, so I tried it on the mini.  A bit nervous at first – what if I didn't get a good clean stamp and wrecked my top??!!  But, it worked out!  I like how they look.  I'll probably use irridescent silver sliver thread for the quilting, hopefully get it done this week.

I love the stamp and glitter technique – gives a 3-D effect like the flake is just settling on the surface.  I love it!

That's a super clever idea, it goes on my "have-to-try-that-too-list". It looks awesome.
