I'm excited that I received an e-mail from the swapper who is making me a quilt. We're not in the same country so are learning a bit about each others homes. Next, I'll contact the quilter I'm making a wintery quilt for who lives in the US like me, but NorthWest to SouthEast so in many ways we might as well be in different countries. Right now it is difficult to use "snow" as the judge because while it is 47 degrees and warm in Northwest WA, Raleigh, NC, has 5″ of snow.

How exciting. This is great Charlotte. I hope you enjoy making friends with your swap partners.

I'm confused, I thought this was a secret swap? Am I supposed to be getting personally acquainted with my partner now?
I just went into her flickr photos to see what she likes and what she does.

No, it's a secret swap. Totally up to you if you want to reveal your identity ahead of time or not.

I usually send an email from another address than my regular email, just to say hi and to let my swap partner know that the quilt is in the making! That way, it still remains a secret who I am, but my partner have a little more security about getting the swap items.
I did not send an email this time, because I think my partner might figure out who I am… And I don't want to spoil the surprise!
