Quilter's Cookbook - Submission Guidelines
Recipes, quilts and stories: a perfect combination.
Some general guidelines:
- Keep in mind the theme of this Quilter's Cookbook: "Quick and easy recipes, so we can get back to quilting!"
- Only one recipe submitted per person. (If I have additional room, I'll allow more than one towards the end of November, check the blog for any announcements).
- Recipes must be submitted in English; however, your Recipe Story and Quilt Story may be submitted in your language of choice.
- Only submit recipes that you have tested and are your own. Please don't submit recipes you have found on the Internet.
- Check the recipes submitted page to see which sections need more recipes and to avoid duplicates.
- Submit your recipe in your native measurement system. Don't worry about converting the measurements to Metric or U.S. standard. Charts and/or links to resources will be provided in the Cookbook for this.
The recipe submission form is rather long. My suggestion is to type up the recipe in Word, Notepad or some other program, so that you may spell-check the information and double-check it for errors before submitting it. You can easily copy and paste the information into the correct spots on the submission form.
PLEASE: Do NOT enter all of your information in upper case. I will not accept these submissions.
Specific guidelines for filling out the recipe submission form:
- Name to publish: If you do not want your first name and last name to be published, please enter an alternate nickname in this field.
- Publish email: If you would like your email address published in the Cookbook, please select the checkbox.
- Blog: You are not required to have a blog or web site, but if you have one, I will link to it.
- The fields Preparation time, Cooking time and Serving size are not required. If you know the information, then enter it, or leave the fields blank.
- Ingredients: This is an international cookbook. Please be as specific with your list of ingredients as possible. Avoid using measurements such as a stick of butter, a package of cheese, a can of soup. Instead, indicate the number of cups or grams specifically. Spell out all measurements (i.e. teaspoon, not t. or tsp.). Avoid brand-specific ingredients that may not be available in other countries, or suggest alternatives. List each ingredient on it's own line.
- Instructions: Be as clear as possible. Avoid instructions that may not be unclear to beginners or to an international audience.
- A Recipe story is optional. You may want to include where you got the recipe, when it's used, etc.
- Quilt story: You may submit a photo and story of a favourite quilt. These will help make the cookbook truly a quilter's treasure.
If you have a photo of your recipe, you can send that to me via email. Only the quilt photo is uploaded with the submission form.
