I made this quilt for my SIL for christmas last year. She loves giraffes. I googled giraffes to see what I could find. I found 2 photographs that I liked and decided I'd make them into one quilt. This is my first quilt I've ever designed or even finished so I was quite pleased when it turned out!

This quilt was going to be for my Dads 70th Birthday but he passed away 4 month before. Back then I was already working on the blocks, I took a break of a couple of month until I have decided to finish this quilt. I gave it to my Mum in memory of my Dad. Finishes at 63" x 94".

I saw a small design on an end paper of the children's book Quiltmaker's Dream. I pulled out all of my "leafy" colored batiks and started cutting. The quilt is made from the Pioneer Braid pattern. When I quilted it, I swirled leaf designs overall.

This quilt reflects how we are connected to nature. we depend on the earth for our survival and the earth's survival depends on us. The figure is made up of many skin tones, she is each of us. Quilted on my domestic machine and it is my original design.

I wanted a quilt for fall using all the colors I see in the Colorado mountains. Most of the bear prints were done from my fat quarter stash and the background fabric was found by accident at my favorite shop. It fits a king size bed with a good drape.

I made this quilt at the "Quilting in the Country" Quilt Retreat. It is actually a very easy quilt to make, but looks hard when you first see it. I used the triangles I cut from the original blocks to make the small half square triangles. I think this added a great boost to my quilt.

A collection of hand-dyed fabrics I had reminded me of the colours of leaves in autumn. I added a jelly roll also in autumn colours, sat down with my laptop one evening, and this design was the result. I pieced it, then machine quilted it on my longarm. I love this quilt! Size: ~ 84" x 102".

This is one of a series of large abstract goddess quilts honoring different aspects of nature. Persephone is the ancient greek goddess of spring - she was kidnapped by the Lord of the Underworld, and before rescued she ate pomegranate seeds, thus binding her (and the earth) to our wintery months.

This was made for my sister's boyfriend, Andy, for Christmas. His hobby is growing orchids. The top right block is Sister's Choice and two of the other background blocks are called Handy Andy. I did the orchids in the colors he liked.

I love looking at the stars at night, and when I saw a pattern for this Seven Sisters quilt, I knew I had to make one. This is the second quilt I ever made, and it's pieced and quilted entirely by hand. In the blue areas, I quilted a variety of stars, moons and swirls.

All hand pieced and quilted, all vintage feedsacks bought from ebay. Hexagons are 1" finished size, cut using acrylic templates. Y-seamed, no paper piecing. Hand quilted by Sue Shore. Made to replicate a quilt my grandma made in the 1930's. Finished size: king.
