Christmas Collection

This quilt started with the urge to do a bit of hand stitching, the centre panel, but what to do with it ? So it became a block. Then I browsed through my mags and choose some of my favourite christmas bits and it became Christmas Collection. Also being a pommie, couldn't resist the robins.

Christmas Table Runner

When I saw this Christmas table runner pattern I knew I had to make it, I thought it was so cute. I especially like the tongues around the outer edge that add a nice finishing touch. I hand appliqued the holly and vine and machine quilted it.

Christmas Table Runner (Convergence Quilt)
By: myramyra, Texas, USA

I tried to copy an online demonstration of a convergence quilt but the fabric I selected didn't have enough contrast so I made a narrow (1/4") black stripe between the strips to try to highlight the contrast. Then I saw a pattern and emphasized it with gold. Freehand quilted.

My sister came across this quilt and pattern in a Christmas quilting magazine about 5 years ago. She loved it so much that I ended up making one for her & then I decided to make one for me. This was my first attempt at paper piecing and boy was it a great lesson with all of those sharp points.

I made this mini quilt to hang on the back of the banquet chairs for my quilt themed advent tea. I used Moda's Figgy Pudding for this cute gnome, snail, and mushroom. There were 10 different mini quilts, each a gift from me to the women at my table. I think this was my favorite.

"Holly Jolly Christmas" is an original design I created using four paper pieced patterns that I created for my website. I wanted a happy and whimsical gift to give friends of ours when we went to their house for a tree-trimming party. I think "Holly Jolly" fits the bill!

This collage is the result of a class that I took. We were told to bring lots of different Christmas fabrics and some fusible web. We were taught various techniques and then we were to design our own collage. I chose the Nativity Scene; to me this is the true meaning of Christmas.

Night and Day Christmas Table Runner
By: Colleen Lunt, Arizona, USA
Blog: Colleen's Quilting Journey

My Christmas table runner is made with an Eleanor Burns' pattern - Night and Day. The fabric has metalic thread shining in it, and I quilted it with gold metalic thread. It is actually much easier to make than it looks. I hope it brings Christmas cheer to all who see it.
