This Christmas quilt is an original design. There are 9 picture blocks in it and most of the blocks have their own embellishments. The most embellished block is the Home block. It has Christmas lights, Santa, a snowman in the yard, a wreath on the door and a sled leaning up against the house.

Advent Tea
By: Angela Nash, Illinois, USA
Blog: My Three Sons

We have an advent tea for women to start off the holiday season. I hosted and decorated a large banquet table in a quilt theme. I used Moda's Figgy Pudding, and designed a fun center for my table. The wonky stars were a sparkling edge. White in between to catch all the spills for easy clean up!

By: Pamela Scoville, New Jersey, USA
Blog: Random Access

My favourite log cabin finished in 2004. It is machine pieced and quilted by myself and was made of the left over log cabin blocks of my bed quilt that has a different layout. Although I call this one Red Jr. its real name is Candy Cane. It is used for naps year round by both the humans and cats.

Christmas Cardholder
By: Nickels, Germany
Blog: Nickels Pickles

I was looking for a nice quilting presentation for all the wonderful Christmas cards, so I designed a cardholder on EQ6. The drawing of the PP-Angelblock was really a challenge for me ;).

Machine pieced and quilted.

I designed this quilt to hang in my entry. A festive greeting to family and friends who gather for the Christmas holidays. I designed the quilt in CorelDraw and made it from the pattern I created. Happy Holidays!

This was a needle turned embroidery block of the month called Christmas Memories. I started in November 2008 and sewed two blocks each month. This was the second quilt that I quilted myself using the meandering technique.

This is one of my Christmas quilts that was inspired by the windows I used to paint when my kids were small. I did hand applique but it works well with machine applique.

I love log cabin quilts. This is the second pieced quilt I had ever made. I wanted random stars and I wanted a Christmassy feeling. It is made of flannel and so cozy and warm. mmmmm Eventually I want all three of my guest beds to have a summer and winter quilt.

Crazy Patch Christmas Tree
By: Betty Donahue, Alabama, USA

I decided to make a crazy patch tree using mostly found objects. The stand is the front of my Mother-in-law's purse.

It was a lot of fun but took quite a long time to do.

Gingerboys
By: Regina Arlauckas, New York, USA
Blog: The Queen Bees Buzz

My mother-in-law and I both love gingerbread men, and decorate our homes with them each Christmas. When I saw this pattern, I decided to make it for her and add fabrics from my husband's old shirts, and from other family members, including ones I took from my MIL's own stash, and old buttons.

Holly Basket
By: Denise French, Ontario, Canada

I made this quilt to hang on my wall for the Holidays. I really like the champagne flowers, pomegranate flowers, holly and poinsettias arranged in an egg basket. I hand appliqued and also machine quilted it.

I Believe
By: Calicojoan, Colorado, USA
Blog: Moose Stash Quilting

One of my favorite quilt designers is Nancy Halvorsen from Art to Heart. When I saw the "I Believe" book, I just had to have it.

The message of the quilt spoke to me, and working with a color scheme that was so out of the "norm" to me, just made this project great fun.

Nutcrackers and Trains
By: MAC, Washington, USA
Blog: Quiltin Grandma

I call this quilt the quilt that grew. I used the book "Block Magic" by Nancy Johnson-Srebro for the Trains and Nutcrackers. To put it together I made the Log cabin blocks (not my favorite blocks to make). The dad in the family likes trains and my daughter collects Nutcrackers. It was quilted by me.

Pine Boughs
By: Pam Burns, Indiana, USA

This is my FIRST QUILT! I purchased my first sewing machine and joined a local quilt guild. In my 2nd month as a new member, we had a retreat. Many finished the entire quilt, but I only finished a small square. I was determined and was thrilled to finish! I can't get enough. I LOVE to QUILT!

Poinsettia Basket
By: Reeze Hanson, Kansas, USA
Blog: Morning Glory Designs

I love poinsettias and when I saw this paper-pieced pattern I was determined to take the challenge of trying to piece it. I collected red and white fabrics for months and finally started on the 100 pages of foundation patterns! Yikes! I love the result and proudly displaly it every Holiday Season.

Santa's Visit
By: Maria Michaels Designs, Ontario, Canada
Blog: Maria's Quilt Scraps

My husband was drawing geometric designs and when he showed me one of them, I suddenly saw in it the outline, a fireplace with Christmas stockings. I designed that block and then the rest of the blocks to illustrate and tell the story of Santa's Visit to our grandchildren.

Snowflakes
By: Geta Grama, Romania

I made this quilt using shadow trapunto technique. The snowflakes are made of batting. I loved so much this quilt so that shortly after I finished it, I made even a miniature ( 15" x 15") using the same design.

Winter Wonderland Shop Hop Quilt
By: Connie Haack, Michigan, USA

In October I went on my first Shop Hop. I loved this kit - I had to have it and couldn't stop sewing until it was finished! I was mostly machine appliqued (my favorite). This is the first full size quilt that I have made. I usually make throw size and baby quilts. I enjoyed every minute making this.

Wintergraphix Star
By: Elizabeth, Florida, USA
Blog: Sand and Sunshine

My mom has always liked star quilts, yet she has never made one. So last year I found just the right pattern and made it for her.

I doubled the pattern size which was a real challenge so my 16 pointed star would be even bigger, and the last time I saw this quilt it was gracing my mom's bed.

Wintertown / Adventskalender
By: Kerstin, Germany
Blog: Cookies Treasures

I bought the pattern pretty soon after starting with patchwork. I saw this one and just knew I have to have it.

It's an Adventskalender and there are pockets behind the houses, trees and stars. I made it without Christmas fabrics so I can leave it hanging a little longer than just Christmas time

Zara's xmas
By: Lil Lutgen, Luxembourg

I had these wonderful x-mas fabrics for about one year and after having seen this pattern, I thought they would look awsome in the quilt.

All of the applique is made out of felt.

About the name, my cat's name is Zara and she's almost as crazy as the ones you can see in the border print.
