Quilting Gallery Newsletter – Issue #8 – January 2009
|
Welcome to the latest issue of the Quilting Gallery Newsletter. I’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a happy new year, may it be filled with creativity. Things have been very busy behind the scenes at the Quilting Gallery. Expect to see lots of new and exciting features coming up, starting with Guest Blogger month in February (see below) and a mini quilt swap (details to be announced next month). I am very grateful for the very generous donations that have come in for the Charms for Charity Contest. In total, 1,464 charms have been received. Thank you to everyone that contributed. We had our first sewing for charity get-together earlier this month. Tonnes of fun had by all. I’ve also been working on my own charity quilt, Flowers in the Wind, which uses 80 charms. For my friends in the northern hemisphere, stay warm; and for my friends in the south, please can you spare some heat? Happy Quilting! Job InterviewA guy walks into the human resources department of a large company and hands the executive his application. The executive begins to scan the sheet, and notices that the applicant has been fired from every job he has ever held. “I must say,” says the executive, “your work history is terrible. You’ve been fired from every job.” “Yes,” says the man. “Well,” continues the executive, “there’s not much positive in that.” “Hey!” says the guy as he pokes the application. “At least I’m not a quitter.” Brought to you by Is it Beer Time Yet?
