News from the Quilting Gallery

Quilting Bloggers

June was a very exciting month for the Quilting Gallery web site. The Reach a Thousand Contest for the Quilting Bloggersdirectory was an overwhelming success. We’ve surpassed 1,150 bloggers representing 38 different countries.

A huge thank you goes to Pat Sloan, Marguerita McManus, Sarah Raffuse and Dorothy Baker for their wonderful prizes donated for the contest. The random lucky winners were: Lil (Addicted), Sue (The Monomaniacal Quilter) and Cordula (Stichelei). Also, thank you to everyone who registered their blog and those who have helped to promote the directory.

July is Charity Quilting Month. I have received some very inspiring submissions already. Look for the posts to start next week. There’s still time if you want to submit your Charity for some free publicity.

Also in July, look for our first Guest Blogger. If you’re interested in being a Guest Blogger, just send me an email and we’ll discuss.

My favourite posts from last month… it was really hard to pick just two (so I chose three).

Around the Web

Two great web sites worth visiting:

Quilt News

  • Quilt News is a fun place to check out new quilt patterns, new quilt designers and other interesting quilting info. New information and resources are added regularly – check back often!
  • Imagine you are in the middle of a project and suddenly realize you don’t have enough fabric to finish! You have been to every local quilt store, you have pleaded with your quilt buddies to help you find it, and you have worn out three mice searching the Internet. What do you do? Post an ad on Missing Fabrics. What a great idea for a site.
