Many thanks to our sponsors you have donated prizes for the Beginner’s Quilt-Along. Prizes are being awarded randomly each week from those that share their completed blocks in our Flickr group. There will also be grand prizes awarded at the end of our quilt-along for those that complete the quilt top.
I will be updating this page as the sponsor/prize info becomes available and the winners are chosen each week.
Kick-Off Party
Reliable Corporation donated a Digital Velocity V100 iron to one lucky blog reader that helped us spread the word about the quilt-along to others. Congratulations to Sherry who won the Reliable iron.
Grand Prizes
The grand prizes will be awarded by votes from the community that visit this web site, similar to the weekly quilt contests. To be eligible, you only need to complete the top of your quilt, including both borders. In next week’s post, there will be a link where you can submit your quilt top for voting purposes. You’ll have until October 2nd at 10:00 a.m. to enter.
Alex from Aurifil has kindly donated 4 packages of neutral 50wt threads. Each package contains 4 spools with 1,422 yards. This is my preferred thread for piecing, appliqué, hand stitching and dense quilting.

In recent years, Leah Day has done more for the quilting industry than anyone I know. She has a wonderful site, The Free Motion Quilting Project, where she took it upon herself to design and teach how to sew more than 365 free motion quilting designs. She has kindly donated a downloadable ebook copy of all the designs.
