New Swap: Applique Posy Needle Case Swap

applique-needle-case-swap

Come join the fun!! Along with Erin Russek from One Piece at a Time, I’m thrilled to host the latest swap here at the Quilting Gallery: Applique Posy Needle Case Swap. It’s very cute, and super easy to make.

A perfect project for a rainy summer afternoon or a cold and drizzling day for friends in the Southern Hemisphere. It’s so quick to make, I’d suggest making up several as early Christmas presents for your quilting buddies.

For the swap, you can choose your applique method of choice. Erin’s put together a great two-part tutorial showing you step-by-step how to put the needle case together: part 1 and part 2.

Registration closes July 5th. Partner information will be sent by July 8th. The deadline to mail your needle case is August 17th for overseas shipments and August 24th for domestic shipments (and between Canada and the USA).

Quilter’s Library

I’m very excited to announce the launch of the latest section of the Quilting Gallery site: Quilter’s Library. My goal with the Library is to offer a simple and inexpensive way for designers, authors and publishers to market their quilting products directly to quilters from around the world.

For just a few minutes of your time and a small fee, you can list products in the Quilter’s Library. The cost to list each product is just $6.00 (goes up to $8.00 on June 15, 2010). See a sample ad for the Quilter’s Cookbook.

You have full control over what information is presented in your ad. You can upload unlimited photos for each product. You will select from various options in: media types (e.g. books, patterns, videos, etc.), experience levels and categories (e.g. applique, quick & easy projects, traditional quilts, etc.).

Additionally, for each product you can add:

  • product name
  • link to purchase on your web site
  • product description
  • product keywords/tags
  • your name, company, web site, Facebook, Twitter, blog and email
  • publisher’s name and web site

Site Changes for Quilt Shop Locator Members

Quilt Shop Locator

I have had my head buried in CODE the past several days working on an upgraded version of the Quilt Shop Locator.

I’m pleased to announce that the member’s administration area has been completely revamped making it MUCH easier to use. If you’re an existing member, please login, have a look around and let me know what you think. I’m sure you’ll love the new preview option and the statistics showing you how times your shop profile has been viewed.

More changes coming later this week to the public view of the Locator. With Spring Market just around the corner, you can bet I’ve been working hard on at least one thing new and very exciting, and perhaps two. We’ll see how time permits!

I’m feeling CRAZY today!

Who wants FREE advertising for one month in the Quilt Shop Locator? That’s right, one month, totally free, no strings and no obligations. (Hurry, offer ends next Monday, May 10th!)

Join here!

Enter coupon code CRAZY. Sign up for six months (I’ll adjust it to one month!)

Existing members, contact me and I’ll add a free month to your current term too providing you’ve entered your Specialties (Login for more info!)

P.S. Yes, I’ll be at Spring Market and I’d love to meet you. I won’t have a booth this time, but I’ll be around. Drop me an email and we’ll coordinate a time and place to meet.

I was so excited to learn that Quilting Gallery was chosen as one of the top 55 favourite blogs for quilters in the latest issue of Quilter’s Home magazine. Check us out on pg. 17, middle column.

Last month, we were also chosen as the blog pick of the month in the local Ottawa computer magazine, M2. This is a fabulous resource of techy information. For the locals, I pick mine up at the Main library. Look for it all over town.

And lastly, my stitch and flip quilt was featured in the Spring issue of Canada’s Quilter’s Connection Magazine.

Even though I had sent in the photo, it was such a thrill to see a quilt I made in a quilting magazine. This quilt is one of my favourites as it contains so many memories of past projects. Sadly, it’s starting to show its age with faded fabrics throughout. Yet it still hangs proudly in my living room until I make something else to replace it.

P.S. Shout Out Thursday will return next week.
