This is a long weekend up here in Canada and I plan to spend as much time as possible catching up on various quilting projects during the rain and taking Milo for long walks when the sun shines. I’m looking forward to both activities. We might even get in some play dates with Milo’s girlfriend, Mollie.

First up on my sewing list is catch up time on the free Aurifil designer blocks. I’m one of the designers and my month, August, is coming up quickly. I have a design in mind and just need to draft it and test out the pattern to see if my vision works out as I hope. It’s tentatively called Buttons Crossed and has been inspired my Nana who was my great-grandmother.

For now, here are the latest three Aurifil BOM blocks cut out and ready to SEW … yes I’m behind.

March block, designed by Emily Herrick. Read Emily’s story and download the free block tutorial here!

The April block was designed by Angela Yosten. Read Angela’s inspirational story and download the free block tutorial here!

The May block has been designed by Amy Smart. Read Amy’s story and download the free block tutorial here!

Are you making these blocks too? They are so much fun to piece! They are perfect for stash busting.

If you are making the blocks, be sure to upload to the Aurifil Flickr Group your May block before the end of the month to be eligible to win a box of gorgeous Aurifil threads. A $120 value .. given away each month!

I’ll share my completed blocks next week!
