If you follow me on Facebook you may have seen these in progress and heard me crying when I ruined the first version of the Patchwork Trees.

trees-done

When I went to square up the Patchwork Ornaments mug rug, I didn’t realize I had the Trees underneath and cut it way too close to the outer edge.

Not wanting to throw out all that work, I creatively cut the piece into two postcard-like shapes and did a tight zigzag stitch around the edges.

I’m still annoyed at myself for making such a silly mistake, but the final version of the mug rug turned out just as pretty. Plus, I’m giving away the two postcards to YOU!

Give-away: For those that purchase the Patchwork Christmas Mug Rugs pattern between now and Thursday morning (Nov. 21st), I’ll enter you into a draw to win the pattern (I’ll refund you) and one of the postcards. I’ll choose two winners and will ship the postcards anywhere.

So cute! Looks like an awesome pattern! (And if it makes you feel better, I cut into some fabric unintentionally the same way the other night!)

They turned out so well! The grid work quilting is perfect for the patchwork, it adds uniformity. Great job Michele!
