According to the Bing Dictionary, the definition of “anticipate” is to: act beforehand to address something imminent: to imagine or consider something before it happens and make any necessary preparations or changes. Last fall, a few weeks after I started my very first quilt , I knew I wanted to make an autumn-inspired wall hanging with pumpkins, a piano key border, and appliqued leaves. This is what I designed – it’s my first attempt at applique and I hope to have it ready to hang in the next week.

Better Late (than Never) Better Late (than Never)
By: Becca,
Maryland, USA

A friend of mine said she had never owned a real quilt. I was saddened by this. I knew she liked fall colors. I let those two things roam around in my head until I realized I made the perfect top almost 10 years ago. So I found it, pieced together a backing and quilted it. Better Late (than never).

The fabric used is autumn maple leaves & the quilt is a one block wonder. I love the warmth of this quilt. So did my friend. He jokingly asked if he could have it. As much as I love it I couldn’t say no. It makes me happy to see one of my quilts go to a good home where it will be loved & cared for.

These are really beautiful, how could I choose just one? Tundra Swan really caught my eye first, but I loved the Happy Birthday one too. Oh, and the chickadees, the snowman, the leaves, too hard to choose just one!

I really liked Red Maple. Just beautiful. I like the fun ones to make and have a chuckle over. I do think that the autumn colors are the most fun to work with. But my Favorite one has to be Mr. Turk!

I absolutely love the Black-capped chickadee pattern. I feed these polite little birds black-oiled sunflower seeds in the winter. Each chickadee politely takes one seed from the feeder and then flies away to a tree limb to eat it.

The postcard designs are fantastic. Milepost touches a nostalgic nerve from our Alaskan trips and having received Milepost magazine for awhile. Raven Moon is lovely with the swirls and colors. Those are probably my favorites, if I have to name them.
