10yrlogo list

Today is my special day to help Gudrun Erla celebrate 10 years in the United States, the 10th anniversary of her quilt design company, GE Designs and the release of her newest book, Fast & Furious Home. Don’t miss the great give-aways below too.

Fast_Furious_Home_lg

I’ve been trying to remember when I first came across Gudrun’s work, and I can’t remember if I met her at Quilt Market one year or if it was this adorable Sweet Trimmings wall hanging tutorial.

Being last on this blog hop tour, meant I got to read all of the posts from the other bloggers and came across this great interview that our friends at the Fat Quarter Shop did with Gudrun at Spring Quilt Market:

Then I discovered that Gudrun used to be a physical education teacher, but what caught my attention and made me laugh was the Quiltmaker Shuffle that she organized:

Gudrun is famous for her quilt-as-you-go patterns. Let’s take a closer look at some of the projects in her new Fast & Furious Home book:

No, I haven’t made any quilts using the quilt-as-you-go method. I’ll certainly have to try it. Thank you for the lovely post on Gudrun. Her quilts are amazing.

I love to use the quilt as you go method but it has been a while since I made a table runner or quilt with that technique. Thanks for the opportunity to win the new Fast and Furious Home book.

I haven’t tried the QAYG method, I’ve been afraid that I would mess up my blocks. I normally just put it together in the normal fashion, but it sounds easy and I’ll have to try it. Thanks for the give away oppotunity.

I have not tried the QAYG method, but I do have one of Gudrun’s table runner patterns. I like the idea of sewing/quilting as one. In her new book, I really like the Log Roll Table Runner and the Diamond Charmer Topper. Thank you for the giveaway and joining the celebration.

Hi, yes I have used QAYG for a bed size quilt and liked it due to limited space in my sewing space. Congrats to Gudrun! Thanks for sharing!

I have not made any quilts as-you-go method. I would be interested in making a quilt this way. It has to be easy and quick to learn. Thank you for your fun blog. You do manage to keep us, your followers, busy with all your activities. Hoping to become one of your winners and to help celebrate the 10 year anniversary for Erla. She is so beautiful as well as talented.

I made a quilt as you go (georgia bonsteel??) about 20 years ago.
It was fairly simple but, life got in the way and I stopped quilting for many years. I really love the table runners and I should make an abundance for thanksgiving and a slivers for christmas.

    thank you for the giveaway

I absolutely LOVE the Quilt-as-you-Go technique and I purchased GE Designs Braid Runner on a trip to PA. My favorite Fast & Furious book is the Home one and would love to win that or any of Gudrun’s patterns. The Sunburst and Well Rounded patterns would be my first to do in the F & F Home book. Hope I’m lucky!

I’ve enjoyed this blog tour very much, sorry it’s at an end. Yes, I made a QAYG table runner some years ago, reversible to boot!, and love the concept – NO pinning. Also a couple of totes, that worked out well. I enjoy different techniques very much.

I did a quilt as you go quilt when I first started quilting about 30years ago but I haven’t used it since. I should try it again because I have seen some new designs that look like fun. It is an advantage to have it all done once it is together!

Yes, I have made perhaps a dozen quilt as you go projects–mostly tablerunners made in a panic mode because I needed a gift in a hurry! Thank you for your blog. I am adding it to my daily morning coffee time!

My first ever quilt as you go was Gudrun’s Braided runner about 9 years ago. I also took part in the blog tour and made her sweet trimmings wall quilt. I own most of her books and have made several baby quilts, bed runner and tons of placemats using her method. I have not purchased this super book yet, so winning it would be awesome. Gudrun is certainly a talented lady.

I have not made any of Gudrun’s patterns for quilt as you go yet. I did make last fall a quilt as you go minky quilt for my husband. My daughter and step son loved it so much I had to make each of them one too. They love them and use them all the time. What is funny is my daughter is 16 and still loves her blankets that mom makes.

Gudruns patterns are just so beautiful and there are several I would love to make…..Which Way, Slivers, Peek a Boo, Diamond Charmer, Birthday Bash. Oh my, I can keep going! Thank you!
