Hi everyone! The theme for next week’s Quilters’ Show & Tell event is Fluttering Hearts. Let’s see your Valentine’s quilts. Quilts submitted should have hearts in any technique and unfinished quilts are welcome too.
To enter, read the guidelines then submit your quilt photo here! You have until Friday, February 15th at 9:00 a.m. (EST) to enter. Voting will start shortly after and last until Monday, February 18th at 9:00 a.m. (EST).
To sponsor a weekly Quilters’ Show and Tell event, please send me an email and I’ll send you the information package. Check available dates here. Sponsors are featured on the voting post published on Friday.
The guest judges for this week are Vicki Welsh from Field Trips in Fiber and Cara Wilson from Cara Quilts. They’ll both have 100 bonus points to award to their favourite quilt(s). I asked them both, what they’re working on, and here’s what they told me…
I’m Vicki Welsh from the blog Field Trips in Fiber where I share my quilting and dyeing projects. I’m excited to be here as a guest judge this week. I love the Internet quilting community. Visiting blogs is like reading a quality quilting magazine every day. I also like being involved in this vibrant community as evidenced by the number of projects I am working on that are sponsored by other bloggers.
First, I am participating in a Quilt-Along from Amy’s Creative Side called Dancing Stars.
I am making mine with a gradient background. It’s about half done and you can see the background getting lighter as I move up the quilt.
I am also participating in a mystery quilt at Patchwork Times called Back to Square One. I’m making mine in shades of emerald, blueberry and larkspur.
Finally, I am about half way through Barbara Brackman’s Grandmother’s Choice block of the week project. I’m making 2 versions, one using Paula Nadelstern’s kaleidoscope technique and one using hand dyed shibori fabrics.
I hope that I do not get hooked into another Internet quilting project until I can finish one of these!
Cara must be really busy, as I haven’t heard back from her yet. Once I do, I’ll update this spot.
